New Mickey Thompson Deegan 38's

I was looking at those in 35s. They were expensive as shit though. I can only imagine what the 38s cost.
They look sick in your ride though man.

 

I believe the Deegan 38's is just the brand name. 35's are the max size they make.

 

Couldn't have been happier bud. They are suprisengly quiet on the road and what I found out...with proper air pressure... there's no vibration with a good alignment. Unless you're thrashing your truck like I tend to, get a rotation every 5 to 10k. That's a very cheap way to makem last. They grab in dirt and in mud and pull you along quite nicely. If you wheel, they are solid. If you're in sand, as I have been more then a few times, air down to about 20psi and there's really nothing in your way for having a good time other than yourself. Great buy if I say so myself.

Also, you can get a set for a good cost through 4wheel parts. Mine ending up being free so I can't complain. If you go with 265-275 you'll be looking at shipped for under 1k

 

Good to hear! I had MT STZs on my Tacoma and loved them. The Deegan's seem to be an upgraded version of those. I don't off road at all (occasional farm trails for wood/hunting) but we get snow and ice throughout the winter and I like how the right ATs can handle all conditions plus be great on the highway.

Brian Deegan races with #38. I like the Deegan 38's. They have some some more sizes now that fit 18" rims.

The first set I ordered came for 17's and they took them back and gave me the right ones and free procomp lug nuts for the mixup

 

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Any updates on how the Deegan ATs have held up? What kind of wear have they had? Looking into getting a set soon and not a lot of info out there.

I'm about 1.5yrs and 30k miles into my first pair. They are wearing fine - maybe wearing a little faster than I thought but it's hard to tell. I haven't measured them or anything. It took me some time to find the right air pressure. I had to lower them 3psi below the stock tires I had before. Also, I just got them re-balanced as they were giving some vibrations on certain roads.

 

I like the looks of those tires. You got them in the size I will be getting. Do you have any shots of them on your truck. Did you go white letters out? I know you said you’re mostly desert but have you noticed that they do well in the rain and snow?

If deegan is running then that would be good enough for me. He knows his stuff not sure how they will be on the rd but for sure off rd .

 

They do just fine in the snow/ice. However, I don't drive like an animal so I think most decent tires would suit me. I have the most issues with spinning wheels on snow/ice due to the touchy gas pedal. You would think after 2 years and 35k miles I'd have that down...

Pics - Sorry, None, and the windchill is below zero so I'm not going out to get pics They don't look like much since they aren't real aggressive and don't have the side knobby-ness that most seem to prefer (but I hate). But they are a good middle ground for highway driving and the occasional snow/mud.

 

Thread revival .. anything not to like on these? other than the pretty bland side wall if you are one to care for looks.

Live in MN. Need something that'll handle the snow we get. Was looking at Falken Wildpeaks and scrolled to see these. Like everyone else, there isn't too much info out there other than MT's ad and original release info from 2017.

I found a 4 set on bay of e's for pretty cheap in stock 275/55/20.

I actually prefer the "bland" sidewall - My truck is 99% a highway driver/mall crawler so I don't need the knobby look to show off.

Longevity wise - I have about 45k miles on these tires and they should last until next fall. I'll have about 60-65k on them by then and I tow a camper ~10 times a year. I'm not good at rotating them regularly. I've had them balanced once.

Haven't had them out in the snow yet this year so I can't say how well they're performing in the 3rd winter.
