What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I'm a little hesitant as well, but thanks for the insight. Think this is giving me the confidence to just go for it and do it. I miss the under seat storage that I had on my Taco, and this is a great option for storing ratcheting straps and defensive recovery tools as well

Looks good. Same here in CA, but they aren't too strict on it in my experience. I tinted my windshield 50% too with the ceramic tint. Keeps it cooler and I can drive without sunglasses if the sun isn't in view.

 

Hey I was nervous as hell too, didnt want to drill 1/2" holes in the bed of my truck, or do a cmc, or cut holes in my bumper for extra reverse lighting, or cut the hell out my front bumper, ect the list goes on. Then u just man up and do it.

If mine was a lease it would be different, but I'm hoping to be buried in this truck. With the holes drilled thru my bed coating and metal, I now have an awesome bedslide. Cutting the holes in my rear bumper for some baja designs squadrons I have more than enough rear lighting, cutting my front bumper I have a badass bumper winch and light bar, next I'll have some bad ass big ass tires, even bigger and badder than now and rims with the cmc.

My point being with a little risk comes reward. Just be smart, where applicable do research and don't be afraid to ask others for help or advice, take your time, measure twice n cut once.

Trust me after you cut once or drill the first hole it all gets easier from there. This site is great for gathering info on your projects before you jump in. Besides that, just man up and go for it, if u want it.

 

Installed the TRD Pro headlights I got from @Justin9 and did some leds behind the pro grille

 

Finished wiring up puddle lights and changed out the cargo lights with LEDs.

Anyone know of good LED replacement bulbs for the reverse lights for the OEM housing?

Thanks, I'll check them out. Also, for yall that have put in pods for your reverse lights in the bumpers, how hard was it to cut the bumper, I'm hesistant like others to do this. Eventually I may upgrade to a different bumper just not yet.

Here is my take: The covers do not fit over the box well, it's awkward and just doesn't really fit. However, when you trim the floor mat, you're left over with the plastic from the top. I think you could take this and trim it (the trimmed piece) to fit on the lids. You could stick the mat to the lid via some VHB or similar.

What I might do is find heavy duty yoga mat/tool box liner or similar and cut it and stick it to the top. My reasoning is more for grip on the top when gear it loaded.

An alternative option is you could bed-liner the top lid before installing it. I think this would be overkill, but still an option.

This is true I did. U can see pics in my build. Long as u nail the placement it was very easy. A dremel with a cut wheel and your good to go. I wanted a spot that didn't have to cut thru metal due to rust in my area. I found a spot and it worked out perfectly. You can see them in the pics above in my post. Yeah I saw you went into the plastic versus the metal. Good Idea. I just need something to get better light when backing up. My backup camera is stupid bright so I cant see my mirrors to look where I'm going lol. Lighting that shit up would really help out. I'll check out your build. Thanks!

Hey Rey. The front bumper is from southern style offroad. It's their OEM slimline hybrid. It does house a warn platinum zeon 10s winch in it. Thanks for compliments.

 

Good anecdotes, and I don't disagree. This is the nicest truck I've ever had and less than 3 weeks old. It's just taking that first plunge, but I'm in! Btw...love your build, did a lot of reading on it before I officially joined the forums and before I joined the club. Actually just reached out to confirm fitment with SSO on that exact bumper and then ordering mine when I get back in town. I love that look!
