Rough Country 3/1 kit installation video?

I'm looking for a video of 3/1 Rough Country kit install? I have a 2008 CM and many on here have convinced me I can do it with the aid of a vid. I can't find one anywhere now that I've developed the balls to try.

Does anyone know where one my exist?

Dude, I have a RC 3/1 and I would strongly advise you to get bilsteins, BOSS, OME or some suspension lift in place of a spacer lift.

My Tundra came with 3/1 spacer lift. (add a leaf in the rear). It was OK, but only OK. If you don't go off highway much then the spacer lift is, well, OK. Depending on your particular budget, there are a lot of options to take. Me, I have the OME lift bought from ToyTec, way better than the TRD setup. Not too expensive. Works great for me. May eventually take that next step up to reservoir type shocks, but in no hurry for that yet. Then you have some more serious options $$ wise. Any of the Toytec lifts would be a good choice. (The aforementioned BOSS, Ultimate, OME). There are some very decent setups here that will set you back some serious $$ and well worth it. Depends on what you are going with your Tundra.

 

Like Matt said, if you go off-road even slightly, your spacer lift would be a no no. It changes the geometry of your suspension and makes them more prone to breaking, topping out, bending, and all kinds of related nightmares. It's even possible to damage them on one stretch of bad highway. One good bump, you're out a shock.
Not just that, but the ride is harsher. It doesn't bother me but if you're looking for "same as stock ride", you're barking up the wrong tree.
I'm going the BOSS route as soon as I can. To me a little extra $$$ for peace of mind and not having to check your shocks after every good bump is well worth it.

 

Ditto^^^^ Spacer placement makes the difference. My spacers were on top of the plate. Not good.

 

Is this the one your talking about, still not a bad price for a little more piece of mind? Do you have these?

 

Hey Sean, I'm wondering how that Boss kit is treating you? I got a 2" Toytec spacer lift, but now with wheel spacers and a slightly larger tire I get minor rubbing when cranking the wheel in reverse. I've been considering the Boss kit because a) I want to go 3/1, b) the price is right, and c) I think the red coils are going to look amazing.

There is a pretty poor review on the Toytec website about the fronts leaking after only a year. What is your experience and how long have you been running them?

I saw that too but I can't find any other reviews, good or bad. I find that weird. But plenty of great reviews for tacomas.
