Already have plenty of pistols/rifles/shotguns and was looking at adding something unique to my collection.

Have been fascinated lately by some of the bullpups such as the Tavor.

Anybody have one that they like?

I recently bought the IWI Tavor. unfortunately I travel a lot and had to leave it at home so I haven't shot it. Got to take it apart and lube it up. The functions of how the gun operate and feel are awesome. I actually like it more than my AR 15. It takes ar 15 mags aswell so its less mags to buy. Originally I was going to get a steyr aug but they had this one available at my gun store when I was rolling through CO reviews I read were good so I bought it. Next month when I go home and shoot it Ill let you know how it did. Have you had a chance to handle one yet?

Not yet but the Tavor is definitely at the top of my list so far, followed by the MDR from desert tech.

Here's the new Tavor X95 which has a a lighter trigger pull and a few other tweaks over the originals.

Would love to play with one of these. Hearing that some people use em with a thermal for hog hunting etc. That would be fun as hell.

Could think of a few practical uses for them as well if shit ever hit the fan, especially in close quarters.

Such a tough decision...new gun or more truck mods.

Steyr AUG A3 by far, never owned a Tavor but I've shot a couple. Personally I prefer the AUG. PS90 is a sweet weapon too excluding the cost of ammo.

I've got a video somewhere of my son shooting this gun when he was 12 or so. At 50 yards he was shooting the clothes pins holding the paper targets on.

The A3 was up there at the top of my list as well! Gonna have to research those a bit more now.

The Steyr AUG is an awesome weapon. I figured someone on here might have one.

Do you guys think the Steyr could be a practical hunting rifle in the 50-150 yard range? Would love to be able to use it sometimes when I dont feel like toting my heavy 30-06 around. Plus I like to go scouting a lot and hate carrying around a full size rifle when I do.

Thinking a 223/556 round probably travels a little too fast to be ideal for deer hunting, but it shouldnt be a problem with a good hunting dog or good shot placement.

Plus I have plenty of rifles to use when im sitting in stands that may require a longer distance shot.

    Many to come.
IF I were to ever add a bull-pup to my arsenal, it would be this, in this arrangement.

You need to check your state laws, where I hunt we can't use any centerfire cartridge .22 or smaller. But I'm fairly certain it would get the job done in the distances you listed. We used to have a crop damage permit for our family farm and I've killed more deer with my .22 mag than I have my .270, shot placement is the key.

Gotcha, here in FL we can use any centerfire round, but they limit magazine capacity for deer to 5 and there is no limit for hogs.

Not sure how they can prove you were or werent hunting one or the other though since hogs are open game year round.

I hunt private land though so its not a huge deal anyway.

Here are 3 of mine ...

My Tavor, my Beretta CX4 storm 9mm (don't know if it's actually considered a Bullpup) and my KelTec KSG. Missing is my Ruger 10/22 conversion (Redjacket ZK-22). I bought these all a few years back and have yet to shoot any of them.

Then this year I bought my Tundra and now it's taking up my time and funds so currently it's truck over firearms.

How do you two like your keltec ksg? I have been thinking about getting one.

What type of optics would you guys recommend for the Steyr?

Edit: Looking at the Burris AR536, but concerned about eye relief.

Any recommendation on scopes to use on these? Looking at a combo such as the Burris AR-536 that gives you magnification when you need it as well as a Reflex sight on top for when you dont.
