Nice house it's a shame you don't have a bigger garage. Hell me and my wife's cars used to set outside for a couple of years. Then I built a separate garage to put toys in. She wasn't a happy camper when we have a 28' x 34' attached to the house and she was parking outside.:D

Tonight we chatted about our shop a bit. 30x40x12 is most likely what ours will be.

    Stick, steel, or combo?

Know what his out the door cost was?

We want to do ours like @Boosted4runner and match the house as closely as possible.

That would definitely make more sense, but the wife feels more comfortable pulling her car in on that side... So let's just leave logic out of this :deadhorse:

It originally was supposed to be a 16x8 pole shed for the tractor. Then it turned into a 20x30 pole barn - then a 30x40 stick frame on slab.
My budget was $6K, then $12K - I think I’m going to end on $16K after we added rock to match the house. 1/2 the labor is me, the other 1/2 is a framer I paid to help make sure my shit was straight :D
My real estate buddy - and the framer - said it’s a $30-$50K structure if I subbed it out. Another rough quote I received was $35K (doing it yourself, sucks ass by the way lol)

What’s your 18’ short thought Chris?
Our garage connected to the house is 28x50 I think. Our builder said track-homes were 20’ and 28’ was good (deep). After you add cabinets, I wish I would’ve made it deeper (for all you building - I would highly recommend go 30-35’ deep of you ever plan to park a truck in your garage, along with cabinet space). Thankfully I park the Tundra in the space that has the back garage door, so cabinets don’t eat up the space for long vehicles.
The #1 coolest feature everyone in my family loves, is the garage door to the back yard. Highly recommended. I’ve only seen it a few times. My neighbor 5 houses down liked the idea and copied me as well LOL
The small man-doors, you can’t fit shit through. And I’m always carrying power tools or something way larger than a man door.
(Garage is a mess - but showing the garage door to garage door thouroughway)

Lol. No Bryan has almost 100’ between his two garages, 82’ to be exact.

Hell, I don’t even know what my garages are. 23.5’ deep. I’ll have to go measure. 35’ sounds about right.

Good advice in this thead on design.

Anyone do a steel frame with wood shell? I like the cost of a all steel building, but would like to match the house.
