Seems like a cool concept to help reach the roof of our trucks for mounting stuff on racks or cleaning.

    https://www.rooftopdoorstep.com/

Not sure how much weight a door latch can handle, but assume they did their research.

I don’t have one so I can’t say it’s a good product but it is a novel idea.

Funny, I just saw this exact same product on Shark Tank the other day. Although I’m sure it was a different company name and sold for around $50

Nope! I could see the handle making it and then the door skin bending.

Edit:I didn’t look at it close enough. It goes on the door striker. I think it would work fine.

“Suposedly” those striker have to support 500lb or something around there. I’d be more worried about the step itself breaking first. Or slipping off and breaking myself..

    Function before sparkle.
Pros: clever design, easy, cheap, removable.

Cons: doesn’t fit every latch and not sure about Tundra (doesn’t fit a lot of GM trucks), very small surface so big feet tend to fall off, possibly damage the door jam if you’re heavy.

My personal verdict: my feet are too big and I would likely slip off.

Edit: I see some with fairly large platforms now. Foot slippage may not be an issue after all.

I impulse purchased, with zero research, this one the other day from an instagram advertisement of all places, $28. Seems to be shipping from china according to my difficult to decipher shipping confirmation. I have low expectations, but if this works, getting firewood off my rooftop basket just got much simpler.

I bought one and it arrived today. Thinking about putting some bed liner or something on it because the surface is extremely slick. Also, it’s small

That guy on shark tank is a firefighter locally, I see him now and then when they bring a pt to the ER. Rumor has it they got 3 mill for the business. I dont know I believe it seeing that about 10 companies make the same product. Doesnt make sense to me. When I heard he was going on with that idea, I said they won't get a dime because I have seen those all over Amazon for a couple years. Weird to me but a good idea for sure

    Not nearly enough room here!
I remember him saying on Sharktank that this thing is good for hundreds of pounds, because that 'door-ring' is where Firefighters connect their Jaws Of Life.

I’ve seen a couple of these. One thing I don’t like is the possibility of the paint getting marked up in that area. Planning on making my own at some point but adding some rubber or something around it.

It comes with a sticky pad that you tape onto the edges to not stuff the paint of your car.

Here's Moki from shark tank w/ rubber edge to protect car
    https://mokidoorstep.com/

here's page full of other options
    http://www.tractorpartsbodiesandmore.com/502-camry/roof-ladder-foot-stand.html

Moki holds 400# but doesn't fold & no other features.
Others fold, include window punch & seatbelt cutter. For me, I think having multi tool in door pocket would be better (glass break, belt cutter).

This is the one several here bought above - folding, glass break, no cutter, 400#.
    https://www.trendingvip.com/multifunction-car-rooftop-doorstep/

On Aliexpress they are called door pedal. I figure when buying Chinese made things, buy from Chinese factory direct.
    https://www.aliexpress.com/category/200000270/pedals.html?spm=2114.10010108.100004.7.11277c32rzbL07

Some as low as in the $6's

Was going to order one for clearing snow off roof, went out to truck to verify it would work on my truck....
realized w/ access cab, the latch catch is on a hinged door. I know it is latched top & bottom, but I'm not comfortable asking a door to hold my weight. Had to replace door bushings in my Chevy door that sagged. Dontawanna welcome that project into my life again.
I'll continue to climb up on the tire & use an extension snow brush.
