I believe some of life is decided for us and we just have to roll and bend with the way it takes us.

    Congrats man.

Negative. This is literally the worst time to show weakness. The baby will pick up on it, and you don’t want that.
Kidding aside @Navi, much love. I have three babies that are 21, 17, & 12. Love them all with everything I have.

You will be fine, I promise. Congrats! It's a great thing!

We planned for our first. I thought that was my limit. My wife wanted another, we planned for it. We had another. That was my limit, wife wanted another - I didn't, so we compromised, and now we are expecting our third within a few weeks. Haha. We'll be fine, but it isn't going to be easy.

We both work and don't have any retired parents to help with childcare.

Congrats! Funny I didn't even try for either of my girls. not that they weren't planned but we weren't trying when I had either of them. in fact my oldest was conceived when I was on bc....but it had just been changed to a lower dose a month prior due to some medical issues I had. all of my friends conceived when they weren't trying also....so I'm going with the fact that stress may possibly be the cause of not being able to conceive in the first place. as for nursing....it does lower the chance of you getting pregnant but that doesn't mean you won't get pregnant....

again....congrats and I'm glad everything is back on track for you and your wife

Haha! Congrats!! I can definitely relate! We’re old, too (52 and 44). Doc told us the same thing - can’t have kids. Guess I proved them wrong, though, because we have a 5 year old and a 9 month old. My boys are a blast and they keep me young. Besides, plenty of time to sleep when I’m dead!

I've heard this about stress as well. Did some reading about stress last year because so many ppl told me this and turns out, stress can do some nasty stuff to your body, up to and including stroke, death, etc. so, we've really tried hard to be aware of stress loads these days

Thank you for sharing this Ed. I needed to hear this. I'm hoping the 2nd one helps keep me young as well and that's the perfect attitude. you have two handsome young men and love to see them outside, which is what me and my baby girl do now as well. She loves camping, etc so i'm hoping to keep that going.

Thanks, when my wife told me, I was probably just as taken aback as you. I’ll admit I had negative thoughts about it to start, but it definitely worked out

Thanks! I took the oldest camping and off-roading last year, and he loved it. Plan to do the same with both this Spring when it warms up a bit. Sounds like you’re going to have a lot of fun with yours, too! Be sure to pics when the little one arrives!

    Congratulations.

No matter the how you did it, LIFE is a miracle. Kid's are great even for those of us that started late. We've got two girls that are 18 months apart and they have a very close relationship. Science isn't an exact science and docs can be wrong; ask my wife as she tells me this daily lol.

One of my old Army buddies had one testicle and 7 kids. 2 from a 1st marriage and 5 from the second. He lost one of his jellybeans in a skiing accident as a kid.
He was affectionately known as "The One and Only"

I am only telling this story because when he was young the doctors told his parents that chances of him reproducing was very slim. 7 puppies later...
