Got my struts put together but they are not sitting all the way on the perch. My buddy said they will pop into place when they are on the truck .Anyone else ever seen thus happen ?

Yup had this problem on my 04. It had Monroe Quickstruts on it when I bought it, bought 5100's and the coils would not fit pretty much exactly where you're at. Unfortunately no they do not go into place, ended up buying new springs.

I didn't, I was working with my mechanic and he advised against it.

If they're stock, I'd double check you received the correct shocks.

I don’t think the stock springs are white. Maybe you painted them? If so, maybe the paint is holding it up on the inner coil

Thats what my buddy thought at first so he grinded them down on the inner side but got the same result. Idk if they are the right struts I will just put them on amd go jump my truck lmao jk but maybe hit some speed bumps and see what happens. Crap idk what to do lol

Thats what I will do . Its my luck that this is going on lol .I'm sure I will get it figured out they are not that far off at all that is what is crazy you would think the spring would force its self down it must be crazy strong for it not to .

Well I think because unless it is sitting in their right its forcing it to one side

One other way to look at it too is if you get them on and need new shocks later you're probably never getting those springs off again.

I ended up just getting some cheap Monroe's to run until the new springs came in. Once I got the new ones in, I sold the old assemblies to make up some of the cost.

Only problem here is these are lifted struts 6" from rough country so I would have to run what I have until I figure it out. That is ok but just wanted this done and over lol

I can’t see why it wouldn’t sit down once the truck weight is on it. But it does seem odd for sure. It your ever off road and in a full droop position it will most likely gap out again. Unless the sway bar or another bind point is before that

No off road for me .Lol unless on a quad .But yes I think it will go for sure we just smacked the bottom on the ground from like 1 ft up and it went down about a 1/4" so I think it will be ok. If not we will just jump some railroad tracks hahaha
