This is where I got my love for Tundras!
My pops 2000 tundra. This truck has about 248,000 miles and still kicks ass!
    That’s why I bought my 2016!54402839-25F5-4C5F-B9C3-EC1359FC1431.jpg051F7139-E10D-4E70-8A91-17CBA09AA7F0.jpg

A little of this and a little of that.
Nice. How long does your father intend on keeping his?

Same here. My dad had Toyotas when I grew up. (Hilux and Land Cruizer trucks in South Africa) I learned from a young age, comparing all the neighboring farmers' trucks that the Toyotas always lasted longer than the competition. Tradition continues - my son has his 2nd car, both Toyotas.

I don't know. I'm trying to convince him to get a new one. He recently retired. He deserves it. He doesn't want to part ways with it yet. That truck still runs like a champ. Still hauls a trailer with it and still drives it like its new.. lol

Tell him to set aside money for one. But hold on to that truck as long as it lasts. If he’s happy he should save his money.

Money isn’t the issue. I don’t know why he won’t do it yet. I’d kee that and get a new one! Lol

A big reason why he has money besides working hard, is being frugal and making smart choices. It’s probably hard for him to break that habit even though he can’t take it with him. The truck hasn’t let him down yet. It’s probably like an old friend to him.

I wish I was more like your dad. I’ve always kept cars for five or six years. I plan on keeping the tundra longer. Fingers crossed.

I hey this isn't a Toyota story but it's about the same.
That's exactly what my dad did he had a 99 Tahoe and in 2007 bought a brand new Yukon Denali to replace the Tahoe when he needed to but now the Tahoe has 333,000 miles on it the Yukon Denali has 3,000. He won't let the other one die. Lol

My dad had both a 1st gen and a 2nd gen as work trucks awhile back, and still says he'd take a Tundra if he needed to buy a personal truck. His brand new 07 that he had made me a Tundra lover as well!

161k miles and she runs better than new. Your pops probably knows its hard to find a better replacement so why bother?
