I have a dilemma, I want the new long travel suspension made by pro comp for my 2013 rock warrior but do not want to get fiber glass fenders . I refuse ! Pro comp makes fender flares for the 2014 and newer tundras but not the 2nd Gen models. I believe the suspension requires for the fenders to be cut aproximatly 2 inches . I'm asking is there any company that makes femder flares that would work on my truck allowing enough room for the long travel suspension and having enough coverage or is there a shop that could custom make fender flares without having to fully customize my factory fenders with metal work ?

For starters you definitely don't want Pro Comp long travel....Not sure if you're aware or not. But Pro Comps Cast long travel arms snapped in half under testing multiple times in vegas. I have the mazzulla long travel kit. The only other kit I would recommend is LSK. Mazzulla is infinitely more engineered and FEA tested though.

If you want long travel and don't want to buy the fenders then don't buy the fenders. You'll be "that guy" who slashed his tires in half and we'll all have a great laugh at your expense.

You should probably make a new member post first though if you want anyone to give you the time of day. And also except heap loads of shit since you want to buy the worst long travel kit ever produced.....

I wouldn't cut my tires on my fenders they would be trimmed to make room for the travel of the suspension but then I want some kind of flare to cover the trimmed fender and still cover the tire

Sean, perhaps you could shed some light on what's wrong with ProComp stuff? Just for my own curiosity more than anything, plus it might help clarify for @JasonNeumeier.

We might know a thing or two....Pro Comp bad. Very very very bad. @Sean266 i wonder if he's financing the LT kit with the purchase of the tundra...lol That has to be the only way anyone with half a brain would put a Pro Comp kit on a truck.

Don't ask us how we know...Not like I don't have a LT kit or anything with 37's. You'll be lucky if you only rip the entire quarter panel off the truck with that crappy pro comp kit. Happens to the raptors all the time. Don't think we know what we're talking about?

Also that "long travel" kit from Pro Comp isn't even long travel. The numbers don't come remotely close to the real long travel kits, so you're going to be paying thousands for a kit that is equal to a mid travel kit. And yes you need glass. This is because it makes your front track wider.

On the plus side! Pro Comp stickers seem to be holding up better than their products ever have.

    Pro Comp is not quality.

To give you an example, all of the real deal long travel kits are either made from heavy gauge chromoly or heavy gauge chromoly. I'm not counting the total chaos kit. Great kit, only gives 11 3/4 in of travel. So they don't count as long travel anymore.

Pro Comps kits are cast. The strength is just not there. They were made to be mass produced as an upgrade option for dealerships. Which they succeeded in due to how cheap it costs pro comp to make them.

Another downfall is that Pro Comp doesn't fix the geometry issue on the tundra like Mazzulla and LSK have.

The downfall is that every test they've done with their LT kit in vegas has resulted in broken arms.....Hence their great warranty.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous my long travel kit isn't warrantied to the extent pro comps is lol. That lifetime warranty man..

This guy doesn't realize one bit how different the new tundras are from the 2nd gens. Especially in the engine bay firewall. -_- this is why you need fiberglass. Don't half ass it.

Pro Comp doesn't get 14 inches of travel. Id suggest you do a LOT more research before you dump tens of thousands of dollars on something you won't be happy with. To do it right it'll set you back around 10 grand and that's for a bear bones basic LT kit for just the front. Even with 35's you still need fiberglass. The reason you need fiberglass is because the track is being widened. This means you're achieving more travel. The wheel needs a place to go at full tuck.

Rear suspension is stock at the moment.
We're doing 3.5x18" 5 tube black tops, bed cage, currie rear end, Y link wish bone and an Atlas SUA setup.

Total Chaos claims 17 inches with 37's. they only get 11 3/4. Don't be that guy. Please do your research other than reading a brochure. Earn some forum smart points. Trust the the guys who have already done this. I'm on my second LT kit for the tundra, the first was the total chaos kit. And the LT tundra group is a very small group, we all know each other for the most part.

I'm sure their brochures looked exactly like yours. Except in your case if you go down this path, you'll be the elephant in the front with Pro Comp stickers on it.

Just trying to save you headache man, this sport isn't cheap by any means. And it sucks to see people get screwed when it comes to long travel. We all just wanna have fun with our trucks at the end of the day and drive them home in one piece. I hope you do join the LT group! Just do it right the first time so you don't have to have a 10 thousand dollar lesson like I did.

The one thing to note, is numbers aren't all that either. Something worth knowing is suspension geometry and valving are where the top kits shine. They're the guys who've done R&D for hundreds of hours. That's why I only recommend the mazzulla or lsk kit. That's pretty much across the board in the LT world. Hell even bj baldwin dropped the camburg kit of his tundra.
