Where is the best place to buy brake pads and rotors

My front passenger side rotor (top half) is getting grooves into them. I have taken the pads off twice already and there is nothing on the pads causing them to groove out the rotor. Maybe at one point something got caught between them but the last 2 times I checked there was nothing and its still getting deeper. So I'm going to replace the rotors and pads myself this time. Had the dealership do it last time

 

The rotor doesn’t look too bad. Take both off and get them machined at your local auto parts store and replace with new pads. Just have them us a micrometer to see if they can be machined. The rotors will have min and max thickness stamped on them, save some money instead of buying new.

 

What kind of pads are you using? Most would recommend the OEM. Those grooves are not real bad. You might be able to get them turned. If not running OEM pads, I would change to and run a bit longer.
if replacing rotors. lots of aftermarket options, could go with grooved and or slotted for better heat dissipation and performance.

I'm going to replace them, there is a awful metal sound when driving used to be barely noticable but now it's getting louder. The rotors and pads were OEM. When I took them off, the pads looked and felt smooth. From the very outside of the rotor to below the line you can feel the difference.

I was looking at getting Power Stop Drilled/slotted rotors and their pads.

 

If your pads are still good, not down to the tattle-tails, then you could have caliber issue. Not sure how to best remedy, may be time for new calibers.

 

My 2007 had some bad groves on the back passenger rotor so I ordered new rotors/pads off of Amazon. Found rotors with good reviews and stock pads. Just under $150 for everything in 2 days.

 

My first set of oem rotors lasted 97K. I replaced them with new oem ones. Hope to get just as many miles with them. Good luck. D
