I’m quite impressed with the pattern of the supernovas. The halogen bulbs had the exact same pattern and amount of scatter.

I realize the halogens have scatter too. I just find with the whiter and brighter bulbs, it's just much more magnified and noticeable.

Really bad picture on my part lol wasn’t thinking.
But these are the stock halogen bulbs. Even this close to the wall you can see the scatter start. It only gets more drastic the further you go back.

It’s inevitable with reflector housings. You’ll only ever get a perfect line with projectors or new LED housings. You just gotta stay within the acceptable amount of scatter. Some bulbs are terrible. But not all.

I don’t see too much of a scatter it seems pretty like leveled left & right the supernovas..maybe i have a bad eye ? Maybe a pic of scattered and non I have to see side by side to tell the difference. I’m more of a visual person.

The perfect cutoff line is achieved with a projector lense.

See the strands of light above the cutoff line below? Thats what everyone is referring to as scattered light.

These were from the installation videos on headlight revolution with those supernovas..so by scattered do you mean the arrows I drew? That’s what I’m assuming just trying to better understand.

Exactly. But don’t let the amount of high beam scatter scare you. Its the low beams that matter.

@bdpeelgren ok now I see The difference so those projector lenses you get when you replace the entire headlights either with spyder or the new 2018/2019 headlights or whatever other brand people are switching too.

Okay just wanted to find something that matched those leds for the headlights. I’m going to go ahead & order those. @bdpeelgren thanks for showing all the pictures and being helpful.

The link in post #54 takes you to LED bulbs for $169 on Headlight revolution. Not sure where you’re getting 300?

@Coolcamino you've circled two allen screws. The LED Drivers are the two little yellow 3pc strips. COB LED drivers are small(and bright)! if you place them in the socket, I would imagine that teh portion facing the camera will be facing up at that point, but you'd need to look at your normal bulb upon removal or trial will get you there. I seriously doubt you got them 180 off. Don't worry about that.

If it fits in that way, then there's likely the same drivers on opposite side

Soooooooo what do yall think for my LED upgrade in my '14....

Auxbeam LEDHeadlightBulbs at $35- save a bit of $$$ to have a nice set of new bulbs????

    Or

Morimoto 2 stroke 2.0 at $140- a little better quality in lighting (the majority I read) and better warranty.

I really fill those are my two best options. Anybody care to school me

I'd get the morimoto 2 stroke. This thread is old and I've since gotten a 2020 Tundra. I ended up putting GTR lighting bulbs in it and they're awesome! Cost more money but they're better than the Auxbeams. The Auxbeam is good doe a budget bukd but I've seen the difference.
