So I've seen threads on the features everyone wants on the Gen 4 Tundra, but I was thinking is there a thread on the features or specs on the Gen 4 that would make it a deal breaker to buy?

For instance, a deal breaker for me is if they make the Tundra Crew Cab any longer. Mine barely fits in my garage and if they make it longer there is no chance I can trade my Tundra in on a new one.

What's everyone else's deal breaker on the new Tundra (whenever it comes out). What feature is a must have. What change would keep you from buying one? Granted it is probably too late in the development cycle for Toyota to incorporate any changes, but I think it still would be good to know.

Mine is they put a twin turbo 4 cylinder and call it some weird name like "ECO 4". I love the V8, yes could be better mileage but I'll be damn if a Tundra gets a 4cylinder.

I can't fit my Tundra in the garage anyway, so I 6' bed is welcome, a V-6 is not, and if the full window roll down on my CM goes away, so will I . . .

A turbo 4 will make me hold on to my v8 forever.
I also very much like my bench seat, so I hope it stays an option.

Storage behind CM back seats and access to it - seats that fold down.
Factory over-cab racks, or tracks to mount aftermarket racks (THULE, Yakima).

Yes, a new house is on the to do list as I've been craving getting back into a Porsche and there isn't enough room in my garage for a 911, my truck, and my wife's SUV. Feel free to start a go fund me page, I just need $500k to get the next house going :).

The wife's suv is the problem. If she was a good woman she would park outside. LOL

If it wasn't a Hybrid, I might be able to pull that off. She has to park inside to charge it. Technically it is a three car garage, but I'm not taking the chance of parking next to her as it would only be a matter of time before I have to pay my paint guy a few grand to fix her parking skills. Yes, I know what you are going to say, but a new house is cheaper then a divorce.

Unfortunately, pretty much anything is going to be a deal-breaker for me. I am going to hopefully run my current Tundra long enough to give to my son when he turns 18. I think it will be the last 1/2 ton pickup I buy. So, unless Toyota comes out with something that has good payload numbers, I won't be getting another one.

Same transmission software as the new Tacoma would ruin it for me.
Also would ruin it if they don't make a crewmax with a slightly smaller cab and a 6ft box

shrinking the cab of a CM would be a deal breaker for me. At 6'5" wtih family members my height, I need the interior space as much as the bed space

    Adding gears to transmission
Integrating vehicle functions/features into technology stack (Ford/GM/FCA are using customers as beta testers with zero tech support)

    1. Add Cylinder deactivation
    2. Remove the passenger side door grab bar
    3. Make it any bigger
    4. Not increase payload for 4x4 CM, 1200lbs curently is silly
    5. Not offer V8
    6. Not fix cam tower leak design if they keep same 5.7 style platform for V8 models

I agree, making the Crew Cab any smaller would be a deal breaker. I use every inch more often then I ever thought I would.

I would like to see actual storage in the Crew Cab. There is so much room wasted behind and below the seat that could store tools, straps, etc.

That sucks that they effed up the rear seats in the CrewMax for the 2014+ models. I love the fold down feature in mine - I use it quite often, and store stuff behind the seat all the time.

Honestly I like the fold up feature more then the fold down. Of course it is 2019 and you would think someone could develop a seat that folded both up and down so that you had the best of both worlds. Maybe I should get a patent on it and then sell it to all of the auto companies.

The fold up feature would be nice, but the ability to change the lean the upper seat back in the second row is great when you are riding back there. And I agree, designing one that did both wouldn't be that big of a deal.
