It used to be full before Hurricane Iniki hit more than 20 years ago. A lot of local stories on that short stretch that will give you chicken skin.

So no-go on Kayaks not guided. It’s $98 a day and you have to load up on your rental rig and take to local launch. We have too many people, so Kayaks won’t fit on top.
We found a guided tour for the same price at Wailua Kayak and Canoe - hitting that up tomorrow.

Was just there in June. First time but won't be our last. Our favorite thing was a Dinner cruse through Captain Andy's. Kids will love the trampoline on the front of the catamaran, I know my daughter sure did. Can't wait to go back. Enjoy!

Well today, ended up in a “kids day” LOL.
Couldn’t keep them out of the water.
So we compromised. (Multi-pounds of limes = home made margaritas)
My daughter is a dork and figured out how to “twin” herself - which I found very interesting! (Last photo) Lol

Damn, I’ll have to ask my wife where we went from. They had the kayaks, vests, and dry bags for you and you launched from their dock...I’m about 90% sure it was the KamoKila Hawaiian Village. If you haven’t already paid for the other place I’d at least look into renting from the village. They have paddle boards too if you prefer those over kayaks.

You’ll have a good time either way. If you end up going guided tour ask them if they will take you up the river to the swimming hole. There’s a small rock face that’s a lot of fun to jump off, kids and adults included.

Will do! Yea, all 3 places we called on the river said we’d have to load up then kayaks and go up river to launch :(
The place we went with said they’d take us up to the falls - so that worked for us.

Forward looking camera, Stub Antenna, 3M clearshield. A few other non lifted items.
I was going to suggest the Napali boat and snorkel. As I recall, they anchor in 30 ft of water and near a 130 drop. When snorkeling, I saw a big ray come up from the depths. Whales jumping and even baby whales. I thought the Boat ride was great, a bit rough for some folks tho.

Remember going to the North coast on a clear morning. Remote and beautiful beaches. As mentioned, the mountain is the wettest place on Earth.

Yesterday was quite an adventure LOL.
We rented bikes out of Kapa Beach and did an 8 mile bike ride along the coast. Saw some whales off shore.
Easy and beautiful for the adults - but my 6yr old son got quite the workout :)
The smallest bike for him was bigger than what he normally rides. He didn’t eat shit though, which I was thankful for :)

Then we did the kayak rental and hiked to the waterfall - and swam under it. That was pretty awesome! The hike was definitely muddy! My buddy and I had to convince our “guide” (which was not so much of a guide at all) - to tell the senior citizens (65-75) to turn around and wait for us. An older fella who could barely make the trail himself was dragging his wife who was in flip-flops up the thing. After she fell twice and the last time on a big rock, we said that was enough. Felt bad for them, but that trail would’ve eaten the poor lady.
My boy walked the entire way and didn’t complain much at all until the last stretch. He was completely beat and is now going on hour #12 of sleep LMAO.

We had lunch at the El Pastor food truck, which kicked ass!! Fresh Mahi tacos and El Pastor.
Later that evening we did Keoki’s Paradise - and holy shit that place kicked ass! GREAT food! So yes - thank you @Taco-Bender! We are going back, and doing Hula pie next time! I had mahi and ohno for fish. The pineapple mohito’s kick ass!
Also did a jalapeño margarita which was pretty good.

This morning woke up and watched the sunrise with a cup of coffee. A bunch of turtles were rolling on the shore in front of us. Good times so far!

-Kauai Backcountry Adventures irrigation canal tubing
-The Beachhouse for a high end date night - awesome steaks and excellent mai tai's
-Koloa Rum Company - some of the best dark and spiced rum you'll ever have
-Kauai Coffee Company tour - awesome coffee samples of all their different roasts and blends and neat tour
-Kipu Ranch Ultimate Ranch UTV tour 3 hours- Awesome tour, super fun utv holds 2-4. We booked as party of two and both drove, swapped halfway. Get up to speeds of 45-50. If you can, do the early bird special. Not only is is less expensive, I think its the best time of day. Start at 7am and you're out on the trails as the sun crests over into the valley. Awesome tour and the guides are excellent! A must do! https://kiputours.com/specials/#special1

Dang! I just called to book tomorrow at 7am and my boy is too young :(
The early bird trip is 9yr and older. There is a 2hr waterfall tour that works for a 7yr old I might sneak him on (he’s 6).

This place kicks soooo much ass! It’s kicking our ass! LOL! The Poke’ Bowl at the “best rated food truck in Hawaii” has been the best thing I’ve digested so far.
Dim “n” dem sum - was the ticket. They had such an amazing “Poke Bowl” I had a group of 10 following :)
We did “Narutro Noodles” which was good, and “D-Greens BBQ” which was a huge disappointment. “D-Green” was a douche bag and I’m guessing if he doesn’t change his shit-attitude he’ll be out of a job in 12-18 months. His BBQ was decent, but not worth the crap-attitude to order the food.

Tonight there was a rough-surf warning, and my buddy wanted to hit the waves and take advantage of a kickass
Boogie board night. Man, I got my ass kicked!!! We are almost 40, but he looks like a 20yr old, and apparently I don’t LOL. There were 100 people on the beach and only 7 locals boogie boarding - then me and my white-guy buddy. I got pulverized by the waves. I tried to make it out beyond the 10ft tall breaks but they kept smashing on me. 45 minutes after the locals were ringing bells and whistling at us, we all realized there was sharks in the water and headed in. Beach cleared out quick!!! The locals told us if we “hurried up and rushed in” they’d leave us in the water to be fish-food LOL - they didn’t want any panicking. Which we understood; and complied. Then slowly made our way in.
Our daughters freaked the fuck out though after they saw the shark fins swimming around where we were floating. Our wives weren’t there, so we didn’t get pics.
Did Waimea Canyon today - which was beautiful. Young kids didn’t care for the car ride, of course. Next time they’re staying home :)
Found a couple of - very many - bad ass Toyota’s on the island.
Every time I see a sweet Tundra - I of course don’t have a good opportunity to take a shot.
I backed up on these Taco’s though -
    that were hunting for something
    With dogs. I guess pigs?

No shit !!!! 3 more nights and 4 more days LOL
We tried to book the tube trip and they were sold out :( I’m calling in the AM to try and convince a booking.
    Goes by quick - but I’m seriously beat! It’s been non-stop. o_O
Every second of every day, has been a soccer tournament, football game, body board getaway - it hasn’t stopped!
We even partied until 2am, but then kids/wives are up at 7am - so game on :eek2:

We just got home tonight - and man are you right! I was supposed to take the kids to school and head into work tomorrow - but I’m taking the day off and kids are staying home LOL.
We didn’t head to N coast because of weather. We did do The Beachouse - so thank you everyone who recommend that place! Great food, amazing service! And yes - spendy! But worth it!
    We had a blast!

I guess a storm blew through right before we arrived, and then another is coming tonight right when we left. The seas were pretty awesome today!
This pic was this morning - we had coffee on the beach almost every morning.

10 Turtles came to shore last night - that was pretty sweet. The Humpback whales were also launching out of the water entirely - it was breathtaking. My boy was too young for almost every activity - which was too bad. If we can make it back in a few years I’d love to do the whale watching tour on the jet boats that get right up close to the whales.
