Hey Everyone, new to the Forum. Just sold my 2007 and bought a 2018. It came with a Fox Coil Over 2.5 suspension but something isnt right. One side is dialed all the way down and the other side is adjusted up. But the truck is sitting well above stock height. I went into 4 wheel parts here in SLC and they are dumb founded. We called FOX and verified its all the right equipment. Seeing if anyone here has any suggestions before I start replacing stuff. The front is noticeably higher than the back.

You mean left to right are adjusted differently?

Yes. The passenger side is all the way down, meaning zero lift and the driver side as shown on the pics is adjusted higher. But the truck is obviously sitting higher than the stock height which is the first weird thing because the passenger shock is adjusted with no lift on it so in theory that side should be at stock height which it is not and the driver side should be higher which it isnt

Without knowing what model fox you have I would be curious what springs are on there. Depending on spring rate and length, adjusted to fully relaxed doesn't mean stock height.

For example, my Foxs all the way relaxed put my truck at almost 3" over stock.

The shocks probably have built in lift to them. Most likely about 2". Even adjusted all the way down, it should still give about 2" of lift. Adjusting them higher will probably give you +3". And left and right being different is from adjusting for the "lean". Completely normal.

The model number from the original invoice from the shop that did it is the following:

    FOX880-02-947 for the coil overs

    TOT87500 Is the Control Arm

The place that installed everything was JBM Motoring in Orange, CA. Called them and sent pics, they are no help.

Are they adjustable? If so, just crank them to desired height.

If not, maybe one is busted?

I don't know for sure about Fox, but my Kings are adjusted almost all the way down and I am still at about +2" over stock height. 0 preload does not equal 0 lift.

on my Kings coilovers I have 3/4 to 1" more preload on driver than passenger. passenger is stock height from Kings which gives me 2"+ lift already.
also JBM has a shop and they are pretty good. go see them. difficult to troubleshoot on the phone.

No spacers. I hate the front being higher than the rear but don't want to take the rear any higher. Any suggestions on swapping this set up out for just a leveling kit or something that is not as high.

Usually, with fixing the "tundra lean" the drivers side has more preload (or cranked down more). So you are opposite of everyone else.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to accidentally get wrong springs. Hell, one time I ordered 14" Kings and received 12" Kings with 14" primary/secondary springs. Obviously this didn't work out well.

So you should have some numbers on the springs. Take a pic of both sides. If they match, then we have something else going on.

You are right there is definitely something wrong. The collars are far enough apart that you should have a sigificant lean too

It is possible that someone try to adjust them and didnt get the pinch bolt tight enough and the collar jumped the threads, but you should have a bad lean if that was the case.

The cranked down side is what I would expect to see on a 2.5 lift.

is that same part number on both springs? I have seen cracked fox springs and someone might have replaced one side with a 14” heavier spring.

Agreed....we call it the Carolina lean around here. Mine is doing it a tad....not as bad as yours but it still bothers me. I’m adding another .5” via CB +3 shackle to address mine. You may consider the same and/or lowering the front a bit to level.

Have you measured the height from floor to fender on both sides? Curious to know if one side might be higher than the other, but not easily visible. Also, some difference in height adjustment between sides is normal, but the difference in your pictures looks like a lot.

I have measured from fender to top of the center cap on the wheel on each side and the passenger side sits up about 1.5 higher than the driver side and the driver side is the one that is cranked down. Nothing makes sense

This is making no sense. Earlier I thought your passenger side was cranked down. My mistake.

The drivers side sure is cranked down a lot for the Tundra lean issue.

Just to verify again, the spring part numbers are the same right?

I can tell on the pictures that the fender gap is bigger on the passenger side, yet that's the side with no lift on the adjustment of the shock. Really strange. I would start measuring anything you can; length of the shock, distance between bottom shock mount and floor. Also look at your Control arms to see if anything is bent. TCs are some of the best, but you never know. Have you checked the alignment on it at one of your local shops?

I would check the rear suspension too and make sure it all matches up.

I would measure from the hub to fender, not ground to fender.

Count the number of coils on each spring, I could be wrong but it looks like one side has one less coil. Maybe its marked with the incorrect part number.

It Is hard to tell by the pictures what is wrong. But the first thing I notice is that one coilover has no preload adjustment at all, both side should be close adjustment. Maby they are the wrong coilover ? I have icon coilover and almost the same amount of thread is showing on both sides
