Who has done it themselves and is there a DIY thread? I’ve tried looking. Just lifted my truck and now having traction control light pop up on some sharp turns.

I just did it yesterday to reset my default Steering Angle. what do you want to know?

I did a google search and found the TSB on one of the forums. Basically you stick a paper clip on pin 4 and 12 of the OBD connector under the steering wheel. Do it while the truck is on (not started, but in the on condition), and tap those pins 4 or 5 times until the VSC light blinks or turns on (can't remember). then turn the truck off. Then stick the paper clip in 4 and 12 and leave it there and turn the truck on (not started, but in the on condition). then wait until the VSC light blinks or turns on (can't remember). then turn the truck off. Then disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 seconds. Finished.

Before I did this my steering angle showed 27 degrees when centered. After I did this it showed 0.0.

that procedure is for resetting the steering angle after an alignment. It will also zero the calibration data and deceleration data. There are variations on this procedure if you need to reset for replacing the VSC actuator or yaw rate sensor.

The dash screen shows the steering angle?

No I connected a laptop and used techstream to read the steering angle. It also shows the X Y and Z axis reading too so you know if your sensor is reading level or not. You can also do the reset procedure using techstream, but it was too difficult to figure out so I just used the paperclip

Thats the procedure I used, only the one I found was for a 2011. I have a 2013.

They're probably all the same though.

@osidepunker ive heard people doing a shim on the yaw sensor. Is that the alternative to correct the issue rather than do the reset?

This shim is the dumbest idea ever. If your sensor is not reading level because you changed your suspension, then reset the calibration data and it will read level.

Thanks I will try the paper clip. Is there a video on it? Do I use just one paper clip and bend it the shape of a “U” or do I use two separate clips?

I’m having that issue and leaning towards not doing the shim idea and having it properly calibrated...would the dealer be the only way to go? I’m in California haven’t started looking around local shops.

    thanks for any help.

Do not go to the dealer. Get a laptop and techstream cable and do it yourself. Or do the paperclip method (google it)

Or if you are near Temecula or Moreno Valley I have techstream and I zero point it for you and show you how to do the paperclip method

    Also, see this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/veh...ely-sensitive-advanced-troubleshooting.38094/

Me and my buddie tried the paper clip method yesterday, still couldn’t get rid of the sound. We tried it 3 times and still the truck has the problem. I’ll look into that program and thanks for the offer but I’m in San Jose ca.
Thank you for the help, hopefully can figure it out soon it’s driving me nuts lol
