Finally found out reason 2011 Tundra used oil! Luckily it was 200 miles b4 warranty expired! Seems my newly purchased (in 2011) was a demo model, had 450 miles when bought. Used 1-2 qts oil between chg's (syn. or not) regardless of round town or hiway. Did oil test at 49,500 & told it was within "norm". At 49,750 I started the warm eng. after a one hour drive and FILLED the lot with blue/white smoke!! Dealer looked in cyc.'s & #4 cyc. Had a scored wall - new engine ordered. Sure glad it happened under warranty!!

New engine..20 more years at least. My 07 has 68800 at nine years and not missing a beat.9 years. Zero leaks anywhere. We have a very good truck. Nothing is perfect. Things can break, but serious breaks are few and far in between.

yes so far so good on my 2012. Wish the gas tank would be bigger like the 16s but that's about it.
