Flooding in a no flood area. Gonzales, Louisiana

Man, woke up this morning and there's backwater everywhere. Peoples houses are lost, further down the road water is up to the roofs 3 miles down, second story buildings can't be seen. Terrible situation for all, keep us in your prayers. Thanks guys!

Won't be on for a while, trying to help others who don't have a boat, or are stranded

Sucks .. my buddy had 2 ft of water in his house a few months ago and just had it all repaired then this happens

First off, thanks for all the well wishes and prayers!! I truly appreciate it! I got off easy so far!

Update: We're done for the day, did all we could. Thankfully, the waters have crested and may rise a little more due to drainage from northern cities but I think we've seen pretty much the worst of it so far.
Went back to my place, had a little less than an inch in the bedroom, office and living room. Nothing in the kitchen as of 30 mins ago. Sandbags helped a lot and I raised most things up on blocks. Im at my sister's mother and father in law's house. All my family is safe and dry I'm happy to report. Some haven't gotten touched, some have total losses. But we all opened our homes and fridges to others.

Today made me proud to be a part of this community. We had over 100 boats out there today ranging from pirogues to airboats ferrying people to dry land. LEO volunteers from surrounding cities as far as Lafayette and New Orleans pitched in to help others stranded or trapped. No loss of life reported yet, aside from two reported in Baton Rouge a couple of days ago.

LA is in a world of s**t 500 year flooding. Be safe.

 

Oh no, buddy of mine posted that Sat. That's when it got real bad. People were trapped in their cars. Water came up that fast. Saw a car literally get swallowed up in under a minute

 

Damn man thats some crazy stuff right there.
