For those that have done the PS purge with turkey baster, do you remember how much fluid you removed before it was done? And how often did you empty the reservoir? I'm just wondering if I should do it every night for a week. So far I've filled up 1 16oz water bottle and it's black as tar.

Get out as much as possible. Refill. Repeat about 4-6 times over a weeks driving time and you should be good. Once a year repeat again. Fresh fluids never hurt a thing especially when it only costs less than $10 for a bottle of DEXIII.

Yup. Exactly what I worry about with mine, maybe it's a common thing for refurbs. I can picture some road debris or a flung rock taking mine out. Maybe I should look for spares too.

I can't decide what I should do with this side trim. I've polished the chrome but it doesn't last. Pics don't really show it, but it looks rough in person. Some of the white trucks with matching white trim look good.

Should I paint it black? Paint it white? Hot Pink?

    What do you guys think?

They make a shiny chrome color rattle can at the big box. May not be as factory as the original, but its worth a try. Otherwise, straight black is a great color.

I like a little red accent on white (thinking about doing it on my truck). If you can get red pinstripe the width of that chrome strip I think it will look good. (better than hot pink!)
If the red is not your style, I would plastidip it black.

The entire thing. The black is quite beat up from the sun as well. I'm thinking black plasti dip like mentioned below.

Serpentine? How much was that if you don't mind me asking. Mine isn't squeaking yet but has 100K on it.

Has anyone cleaned their fuel injectors? I couldn't locate any videos online for the 4.7L. Are the off the shelf products worth trying?

Not hot pink. White between black, or redo the chrome-- those'd be my top votes. Doing the chrome and rubber Black will be a big, obvious line running along your truck, might be more than an accent. At least if you do that in plasti-dip, you can peel it off if it doesn't look like what you have in mind.

Replaced factory fogs with LED bulbs for 1500 lumen each LED pods from superbrightleds.com, same place I got my light bar. Here are a few pics! First pic is old vs new, last is pods with amber covers. Much more light now!

Long ago... in a galaxy far, far away...
I did a careful masking job and got the plastic sheets out, mild sand paper, wax remover, a six pack, adhesion promoter and a few cans of Rustoleum spray can bed liner. Cost was about $30 and on the beer scale this was about 4 bottles. Not that it was hard but I let it dry well between coats.

It did have a sandy grit texture that grabbed fibers from my wash mit for the first few washes but I learned to avoid it. It's been about 8 years and still looks good.
