Ok, for a week or so, all I’ve been hearing about is Bird Box on Netflix. I finally gave in and watched it

That’s two hours of my life I’ll never get back.
That movie seriously has got to be one of the dumbest movies I’ve ever seen. Had I known better, I would’ve thought M Night Shalamayan directed it....and I HATE his movies.

If anyone hasn’t seen it, you aren’t missing much.

On the bright side, I now can make fun of people who actually liked it.

Yep, I watched it weeks ago and thought it smelled of shalayaman. It was a different premise, but story falls apart and is an overall let down. The only redeeming thing was that someone actually wrote a story rather than putting more reality crap on tv.

This is true. Can’t stand anything reality unless it’s a competition, I actually liked the short lived “Strong” with Sly Stallone.

Other than that, it’s crap burnt to death.

I wasn’t impressed as well. Pretty sure I fell asleep someplace in the middle. Woke up at the end of the river scene.

Got off easier didn’t you? LOL

My curse (OCD) prevents me from falling asleep no matter how stupid a movie may be. I HAVE to know what happens.

Never have I cursed it more than “Cloud Atlas” Three hours of pure confusion.

welp I have news for you all. I see folks everyday who are driving like they have blindfolds on. Most of them are snow birds down for the season cruising in the left hand lane backing traffic up for miles. always scares the crap out of me when all you can see is blue hair peeking over the dash board.

I’d argue that the most redeeming thing about that movie is that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross did the sound track

Lucky for me, I have a weird hangup. If something gets too much hype, or too many people tell me I “have to see” something, it makes me not want to. Still haven’t watched Pulp Fiction for this very reason.
As for Shalamayan, he’s hit and miss. He really does have some great stuff, but others are terrible. One of my favorite movie memories was from when I went and saw “The Village”.

Sat there and watched it through, and when the big twist happened towards the end, I hear a booming voice holler “WHAT THE F—K!!!???” And this huge guy who looks like an NFL defensive lineman stands up and walks the hell out, mumbling under his breath all the way. There were still about 15 minutes left, and I was laughing my ass off the rest of the way.

One thing about Birdbox is that from what I can tell there’s a strong similarity to the plot of “A Quiet Place”. That movie was pretty decent, and this looks like a rip off to me.

I thought the movie was great. Solid acting and had me on pins the whole time. But then again, I like over the top movies. I like to let go of reality. I also thought Aquaman was super fun too

That’s Netflix for you. Only gonna get worse from now on, soon they’ll have mostly their own original content on there and losing even more money, once Disney and AT&T start their own streaming services this year and have already started pulling their content from Netflix
