For those who have one or the other - what are the pros/cons?

I worry about the Decked system being plastic - thinking of maybe putting in a removable stove for camping purposes.

As well, dryness? Keeping out moisture?

I have a 2 drawer Decked storage in the back of my 15 CM. I was not the buyer - the original owner installed them when he had it. I cannot speak to keeping out moisture - I have a Leer topper on my rig as well. The drawers are smooth and pretty useful but my issue with the combined topper is the lost cargo space. For example, when I thought I was going to have to procure and install my own hot water heater recently (thanks, Lowes) I took a look at my storage capacity between the deck and the topper and didn't think it was going to be possible.

The plastic appears to be very rugged but certainly would melt with enough heat but would resist so up to only pretty high temps. I wouldn't put a stove running on or in my Decked storage unit.

I would say that I would not spend the $1,500 for the unit unless I had dedicated tools that I worried about keeping organized and secured with a locked tailgate.

Thanks! I'm planning on putting on a canopy as well but will also put on the topper lift so with the drawers in there will still be room.

I'm going to have to get the truck vault. I like your set up!

I'll get my lazy butt out and take/post a few pics so you can do some more evaluation. Who knows, maybe even a video! Happy to help.

I have the decked system and love it. I also have a topper on my CM. I will try an post pic's later. I spent 5 weeks Elk hunting this last fall two of which were living out of the truck and I can say the storage system made it super easy

I like your set up too! The guns are a thing...going to use one of the drawers for it but the other for camp kitchen essentials or skis in the winter (offset drawer).

This is what I'm thinking of getting. I'm not a tent camper but the kiddo is. topperezlift-system.jpg9fe0661ae8d5dea0475acf0aefa3797d.jpg

I like how you have the axe etc mounted. What did you use to do that. Like the look a lot! Thanks! This is an easy decision

Thanks! I looked at those but where we go there isn't always enough of a clearing - part of the reason why I sleep in a bivy

Love my DECKED system. I, too, cannot speak to the effectiveness of their weatherproofing as I also have a shell on the bed, but it has been great for storing camping gear and tools neatly.

I really want the decked system, but I am worried because I use a tonneau cover I will be shooting myself on the foot, or forcing myself to go with a cap.
