Replacing stock speakers

Looking at replacing the stock speakers in my 2018 sr5 crew max anyone have any suggestions.

Replacing the speakers will help the sound. As I understand the worst is that the head unit does not produce good sound so basically you are amplifying noise. Please correct me if Im wrong.

 

replaced my door speakers x4 and tweeters on the dash with Kenwood Excelon speakers. in addition, put in a 10" sub with custom ported box under the rear seat and Kenwood amp. Kept the head unit. Sounds incredible, have received many compliments.

 

Same here except my system is all Pioneer. Kept original Entune Audio Plus HU. Sweet sounds and no noise.

 

Are you guys buying 6x9? Component? 6 1/2”? 5 channel amp? I would like to improve the sound but no idea what fits. Thanks for yr help

 

Yes.........6 x 9 front and 6-1/2 rear but I use coaxial (full range) speakers with adapter mounts. Installed 3-1/2 coaxials in dash sides and let the HU drive them. Eliminated center dash. 10" enclosed sub. Powered by a 5 channel amp with an

Get adapters and put 6.5" in a the doors

 

Asking for advice as I am about to do upgrade the audio. I have the JBL system but the previous owner installed the Alpine Halo9 (ILX-F309), love the head unit but the factory JBL speakers are sub par at best. My plan is to replace all door speakers and add a stealth box for the bass!!

Why would you choose to do the 6.5" all around and not the 6x9"? What kind of audio are you using overall?

Are you sure that the previous owner didn't install new speakers too?
6.5" speakers will give you the best midbass and a tweeter in the sail pannel for the highs.
Match the speakers with a 5ch amp and get some subs in there and you'll be set.

For my Kenwood set up, in the front doors I installed the XR1800P which is a 7" speaker that fits in a 6.5" hole and fit the tweeter in the dash. For the rear doors, put in the KFC-X183c coaxial also with a 7" driver. The sub is a KFC-XW10000F which is a 10" shallow driver mounted in a custom ported box underneath the left side rear seat. The amp is a 5 channel 600 watt XR900-5 mounted under the front passenger seat. Pretty pleased with the overall result.

I wonder if I would have as good of luck with quality with my 2008 stock head unit or did they change them a lot in the 10 yr span. I just don't want an aftermarket head unit.

Very pleased with system. All Pioneer speakers and amp. 6x9's are 4 way coax and 6 1/2 are 3 way coax. Amp is GM-9605 digital. Dash corners are 3 1/2 2 ways. Sub is a 10" shallow and came with it's own box. The box fits inside the factory under seat storage face up which works well for my DC. Small package but hits quite hard. This is not a competition system and it's not a system that will shake the mirrors of other cars at the redlight. But if you like clean full spectrum sound with a good solid bottom and enough volume to run you out of the cabin this system will deliver. My HU is quiet, no noise whatsoever. I also have AudioControl load generators between the HU and LC7i which maintains a constant impedance of 4 ohms to the HU through out the audio spectrum. Each speaker has it's own tweeter and midrange. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this setup and a component system.
