6" lift, what do I need to know?

so 6" lift with 37's on 18X9 with what as offset? i was told i needed at least a 5" backspace for that 6" lift,, is that correct? and how much trimming will i have to do? thanks again guys for all the points to ponder and a big thinks to JSENA for that f**king funny ass video!!!

 

I have a 6inch spacer lift now and I want to go to a lower lift. With the cross member being cut can I even go to a lower lift?

 

I don’t think so, but then again I’ve never heard of it happening.

Are you sure you had your crossmember cut?

 

I really don’t know if I have ive just been guessing, i don’t know how to check and what to look for.

 

What differential drop did you pick up?

 

Dude stay at a 3 inch max lift. You’ll be happier. Had multiple lifts. spacers, 4 1/2 BDS, OME lift, CST spindle lift w/5100’s.

So I have some experience on how they ride. Best lift was Old Man Emu. And stay the hell away from 37’s, unless your gonna rear gear. Had a buddy that had 37’s and he swore that the 5.7 could handle them. About a year later his transmission was going out. Had a bulletproof lift and everything.

His buddy a mechanic at the Toyota dealer told him it was about to give out. And the bill would be 10+ grand to fix it. So he traded in the truck and a week later, it went out on the new owner lol. 35’s are the max I would go. Good luck.

 

Do a 6 inch and be happy for a long time ! lol
