I searched and could not find the answers:

    2016 Platinum

    1. How do I remove the license plate light cover without breaking.

    2. Same for the covers under my side mirrors so I can access the bulbs to replace with LED.

I have a LED kit I bought from eBay and have only done the interior so far.

    Thank you.

    Chris

Not sure on the mirror but all you need to do on the license plate lights is reach behind the bumper and grab the light bulb socket. It will be about a quarter turn to the left and it will come out. No need to remove the outer cover.

According to headlight revolutions in order to replace the bulp in the side mirror the whole mirror assembly has to be removed and taken apart. Keep us updated if you find out otherwise.

Seriously my luck lol I am up from FL visiting my parents for Christmas and the area they live in GA has outrageously bored police. Guaranteed to be pulled over multiple times :annoyed:

I was hoping to find somewhere that I could pop out the plastic cover but I’ve had no such luck. Attempted to pop it out but I’m definitely not getting far enough to be comfortable it’s going to pop out without breaking. Can’t find anything online or replacement covers.

Pretty tight squeeze right there but I’m gonna give it another go in a few when we make it over to the in-laws’s house.

Is there not a screw somewhere close to the lense for the license plate light?

The lense is flush and not framed, which made me think I could pop it. I’m hoping there is enough metal exposed to be magnetic!

Tilt the side mirror up all the way. Use a flat screw driver and push the tab in. The mirror light pops out. Did both mine a couple weeks ago.

Did see this solid tip earlier for the puddle lights but I was messing with the license plate lights. Thanks though!

UPDATE: FIL had a magnetic extension and was able to get it out
