    Hey all...new Tundra owner here.

Had an 09 Taco for 10 good years...310,000 kms. Decided to upgrade and bought a 2019 Tacoma, Off Road TRD Shorty, w an auto transmission. Changed my mind and decided the Tundra was a better fit for me. But while waiting for my dealer to find the Tundra I wanted, I changed my mind back to the Taco; mistake. I tried to like that Tacoma as much as I did my little 09 Access Cab 4 cyl, 5 spd Taco....but after only two months, had to move on. The dreaded transmission hunting was a real thing. (I had read all about it...test drove Tacos for hrs, and thought I could live w it, but just couldn't.) It was crazy how much that 6 cyl auto hunted for that perfect gear ...all the time.....not to mention when hauling my trailer and snowmobile (Combined 900 lbs only!!!)

Beyond that, I had noticeably less room in the cab for me. I did take that into consideration when I bought the '19...but again, thought I would "develop" a relationship with the smaller cockpit....nope. I'm 6.3", 220 lbs, and it just wasn't happening. Long story short...traded in for a left over demo TRD Off Road. Now I'm in love again with a truck. What a difference!

Turns out, I dint have to take much of a hit. Got all of my ECP warranty back to go with the new Tundra, they paid for my reinstall of my ph app starter, cut me a very good deal on my winter rims/wheels, paying for my Rust Check, bug deflector, window visors and fender flares/install, and got over. Overall, quite pleased considering I only had that 19 Taco for a few months....but will be happy driving a truck that fits me, and my lifestyle, dirt biking, side by side, sledding and hauling my trailer etc.

    Looking forward to being here.....

    Welcome from Massachusetts.

I lived all over Atlantic Canada for short time 15 years ago. I was only in Oromocto, NB for a few months, but I was just over the border in Amherst, NS for 6 months.

I've been looking into going back over there for grouse hunting in a few years, but I'm still making sure I understand the relevant firearms laws before I do. If I just bring a shotgun I shouldn't have much trouble.

Cape Breton, right? It's pretty cool. You should go see the Tidal Bore in Truro, NS while you're in the general area.

Wow....belong to a lot of forums, and never the welcomed responses like this....awesome! Thanks for all the shout outs guys.

Careyrob...know Oromocto well. Grew up in Fredericton, and built my first home in Rusagonis. Great area...miss it but am only 45 mins away.

Regarding firearms into Canada, go to CBSA and click on the "Non Resident Firearm Form". Fill'er out, drive to Calais or Woodstock, declare your 870 Remington or shotgun of choice, pay the Cnd. Gov $25, and you're off. This all coming from a friend at the Calais Border Crossing. Probabaly wanna have ur shotgun in a case...lol. Lemme know when you're on your way through...maybe we can meet up for a coffee.

Krezz...Cabot Trail is nice. We always stay at the Trail Side Motel right in Bedec (start of the trail). Great rates, drive up rooms and pretty decent conti breakfast. Make sure you fill up before you do the trail...last time we did it on our Harleys and 4 of 5 bikes ran dry of fuel because we didn't know the gas station 1/2 way around was permanently closed!! Was a long night with moose season and ruttin bulls...yeah. Oh, and do the trail in the clockwise direction; better views from that side of road to the Atlantic Ocean. Stop at Meat Cove as well (1/2 way point...about 1 mile dirt road to very tip of Cape Breton Island...worth it). And...do Fortress of Loisborgh, if you get the chance.

Lovin my new Tundra!! Actually showed me 11.3 l/100 kms last night coming home from work...a 45 min hiway drive....that's 20.82 mpg US!!

Thanks for the tips in regards to fuel and the direction! I'll be sure to route it that way. Loisborgh is a high priority also. Then ending it with our way back to Halifax for the citadel!

Here she is. Installed fender extenders, bug deflector, window visors and and a few other add ins. Researching spray in bed liners (liking Line X), and dechroming the frt and rear bumpers. I HATE chrome, but had no choice on my new Tundra.

I am LOVING everything about this truck. Shoulda bought one yrs ago instead of my Tacoma...live and learn though....eh?
