Why not just get the frame repaired or replaced under the recall?

Here's one side. Well they said No they didn't have to because I followed the recall and got my frame sprayed and you can see how that worked. I'm kind of a do it yourself person and if Anyone wants to know how I can show them.

Nice work. I had to do the same thing with my Tacoma, though it wasn’t nearly as we’ll do e as yours.

Looks like good work! And yeah, that recall spray isn’t a fix! And yeah, thats bs that the frame is no longer warrantied after spray. The stealership sprayed mine without permission upon frame inspection.

Anyways, I’ve had some bubbling start in the general area of yours mostly at the cross-member joint ends into the c-channel.

If you get it in time you can do what I did and squirt grease up into between the frame sections with a grease needle. Then, periodically spray PB penetrant into the grease seal. Been working so far. I put this here to help others as another option before it gets as bad as yours.

Nice job btw. Are you using any paint film once welding is complete?

Did you pry this area? Or did that happen naturally?

If your frame has not been sprayed they are supposed to replace it but no guarantees. I took out the reinforcements, front fuel tank crossmember, and rivets. I added two peices of 1/4" frame steel one on each side and used grade 8 bolts through the rivet holes and impacted them together then welded them

Yes I primed between the peices before welding and added the flanges back on but what ever you do do not weld across the flanges it will cause a weak spot and will break
