I just got the truck gimme a minute Ok who’s got something for sale?
Sounds like a dumb question, but what are shackles for?

Sorry new truck owner, I realize they add a little lift? Does it work with/without any other lift? And is it just a rear end lift by allowing the lead springs more play?

The longer shackles move the rear pivot point of the springs pack further from the frame creating lift. You could use them by itself I guess but it would increase the rake more. Most people like leveled or some rake (me). Normally you woul pair a 2-3 front lift with 1-1.75 in the back.

I understand the group buy was very active and there’s plenty of orders, but I’ve been waiting over 3 weeks after a paid invoice. Is there a way to get a refund?

No worries, not trying to complain. I'm not in a hurry and know shipping is going to be a you-know-what show for everybody for the next week and a half.

I made this same mistake. It made sense to me to have the one bushing and sleeve in so the other bushing would be guided onto the sleeve. So i texted coachbuilder and he corrected me. It went in pretty easy after putting in both bushings first. You are right, this was not in the instructions.

Installed the +2s and washed. The install took much longer than i thought. Started Friday night and finished Sunday. I had to remove the 1 inch blocks which wasn't bad until lowering the leaf back on to the axle. The notch would not sit back in the hole (pictured) but tundras.com fam helped me out. And then I had to go buy exhaust hanger pliers to lower the dual exhaust. And then remove the sway bar bolt from the main frame. And then remove the rear shock lower bolt. There were a lot of "extra curriculars" but @Coachbuilder1 was great answering all my questions. I have not taken it out on the Denver concrete block roads (which is the big test). I did drive around my neighborhood over dips and the back felt great. It felt strong and i felt the bump a lot less (almost non existent) compared to the block. Also i didnt feel the back wobble like it did with the block. It seems to absorb really well. I will report back after the true test. IMG-8019.jpg IMG-8036.jpg IMG-8049.jpg

I know the wait sucks but it's worth it. David is a great guy and is working hard to get all the orders out as fast as he can. I think you will be happy once you have them installed. Patience young grasshoppa :)

So you put the bushing and sleeve on before you install the new shackles?

I spoke to him last week.. a lot of +1’s were ordered. He already had a bunch made but they were out to anodize them which he told me took 12 days to get back.. then out for shipping.. I’m
Pretty sure most of these were made to order so it takes a little time.. good quality stuff.. sucks to wait . I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks too but they should be worth it.. just think of them as a Xmas Gift :bananadance:

    1. remove old shackles
    2. remove old bushings from the leaf (rent the ball joint press. it's a must)
    3. grease the two black bushings and insert into the leaf
    4. grease the sleeve and insert into one of the bushings and either (1. tap with a hammer) or (2. use the ball joint press which i recommend as to not bust up the end of the sleeve which i did a little bit on one)
    5. re use the bushings from the axle with the new shackles
    6. install shackles (grease the shafts of all bolts but don't grease the threads)

In his video he didnt change the bushings (unless you saw a different video). It just showed the actual shackle install and he made it look very easy, probably because he has done it a million times :) . Oh, and it took me about 30 minutes to put my wheels back on when done holy shit they are heavy. Message me during install if you have questions or obviously David. I talked to him on the phone and texted with him and he responded instantly.

FYI - Coachbuilder +3 installed friday => OME 612 Saturday => SCS RAY10 & 325/65R18 BFG KO(s) today (35x13")!!! Everything fit great, little rubbing on front plastic, but I will fix it when I'm off work in 3-4 hours :)

No BMC required, maybe a heat gun to the front plastic.

I also missed the group buy but I called David @ +1 (801) 635-4872 and he honored the group buy price on CB +3 shackles (plus ordered 2 shims for the driver side and 1 shim for the passneger side). He’s an awesome person to deal with! Answered all my questions concerning Bilstein 6112/5160 and OME setups for my plans to upgrade my suspension. He also referred me to Randy Rusk @ (318)-792-7767 (https://www.xkstensiveoffroad.com/). He had a great price for the Bilstein 6112/5160, so they’re on the way once they’re back in stock (Fiancé said Merry Christmas lol!). Couldn’t help but give both gentlemen some love for the level of customer service. They both exceeded my expectations.

I'm still not understanding. You show the inside and outside and both have the square shape around the nut and bolt head. Can you get to explain more to help me out?

I'm waiting for @Rica25 reply. He is saying the shackle goes on a specific way inside vs outside based on some square. I'm not understanding as the inside and outside look the same on mine. This is regarding his post on page 8 of this thread talking about the specific way to install the shackles.
