Earlier this year on a trip for work, one of the guys on the trip dragged me to a topgolf in Austin. Pretty reasonable. I don't golf, and had a lot of fun.

One just opened here. Prices are like double (well, cheaper price hours are more restrictive always pushing me into a double priced hour). For $20/hr with a group of 4, was fun. $40/hr.....less fun.

Too bad, I was looking forward to it.

ya, we had a team building exercise there last year and it was a lot of fun. you don't have to be good at golf to actually be competitive. we were there for about 4 hours and had about 30 people. we also had it fully catered with an open bar. this was on a Friday night during prime time hours. I am sure it cost thousands of dollars. thankfully, the company picked up the tab. I agree, it is expensive. if I took my wife there on a friday night for "golf games" with dinner, it would cost over $200.

I don't golf (and the closet Topgolf place is in a different state). But how is $40/hr for 4 people highway robbery?

In Austin it was only $20/hr. Why is it $35-45/hr here (will never be there from open-noon for the $20/hr)?
