Hell yes he was. Born in 1916. Grew up in the depression. Decorated WWII combat veteran(pacific theater)who cried a little every time they played the national anthem. I lost him way too early in life. He was my best friend. I chose to end the cycle of violence with my two sons.

Exactly my thinking. I don’t trade vehicles in, so that might be an issue...:D

After seeing what 2019 diesels are going for, I can wait ten more years at this rate.

Now that we have trashed Kali, it seems that the FCC has ruled that text messages are an information service and not a telecommunication service and therefore not taxable.SAC nimrods thwarted this time around. I like good endings....

Maybe and maybe not ... and maybe retroactive for 5 years? https://finance.townhall.com/column...on-text-messages-retroactive-5-years-n2537441

Seems that it's indeed being challenged in court, but if it gets as far as the 9th Circuit, who knows how that would go?

One thing for sure...although a harebrained idea....this was not fake news and could have happened if not for the sensible folks at the FCC getting wind. A clear Kali gov money grab. Who new? Lol...

I love it here but the demarxists are hell bent on turning it into a socialist utopia. But the reality is it's becoming more of a third world shithole.

Nailed it. I've lived in Idaho, Colorado, Utah, and California and have heard this argument over and over again. People argue over taxes, guns, freedom etc.

Taxes- yes CA has high taxes. BUT my property taxes are fixed. Other states not so much. I think when you become truly wealthy you can start to play the tax game. ie. planning with a CPA, property, multiple homes, residency, and investments.

Guns- I have plenty. I don't have an AR or a high capacity mag, but I can get one...no one is knocking at my door.

Politics - is there a state with good ones?

Cost of living- sure my house is expensive, but I have utility bills of $180 a month. My mom in Idaho has $600+ in gas alone in winter. I also only have to go 1.9 miles to work. We have a Tundra and a Prius Prime. One for city, one for trips and work.

All in all, there is no perfect state. You live where you feel happiest and most comfortable with your life, family, job, and interests. So bashing on one state or another is fruitless. I do love this site, and Bend, OR seems appealing to me for later on. I vacation in the mountains, and those in the mountains vacation at the beach. So the grass is always greener.

Come on man. Your comparing a median household income of 65,000 and a median house cost of 1.1 million in your city. Your utilities could be free and still be cheaper to live in most anyplace else.

Why do people get defensive when somebody trashes where they live? If you like it - who cares what other people think?

I LOVE the fact that most people think New Mexico is a barren wasteland. Often times, when I tell out-of-staters about my adventures in the mountains, they often express disbelief: "I thought that place was just a giant desert". I tell them: "It is. Tell all of your friends how terrible this place is". Keeps the people away. Plenty of people bash where I live - and a lot of them are right - there is plenty about this state (like all other states) that sucks pretty bad. But, there are also plenty of true places of ruggedness and beauty here that are like no place else that I have ever seen. It isn't everybody's cup of tea. If they tell me how much it sucks, I usually just nod my head and smile a bit inside, knowing that the population is low, and I get to live in an incredibly beautiful mountainous place.

    @15whtrd well said.

In Colorado ... it's illegal to keep a couch on your porch.

In Connecticut ... a pickle must be able to bounce.

In Delaware ... you can't sell dog hair.

In Hawaii ... it's illegal to place a coin in one's ear.

In Illinois ... it's legal for minors who are in culinary school to drink alcohol.

In Kentucky ... a woman cannot marry more than three times.

In Louisiana ... it's illegal to send a surprise pizza.

In Maine ... it's illegal to park in front of Dunkin' Donuts.

In Massachusetts ... it's illegal to tell fortunes without certification.

In Minnesota ... dirty tires are banned.

In Nebraska ... you can't get married if you have a venereal disease.

    Could go on...
