one of the first things I noticed when I got my truck was that the tops of my headlights were hazy and heavily scratched. 12CA78C4-F6B1-41C7-99B9-95B70B8C1E69.jpg

As I haven’t researched headlights enough to know what I’d want to replace them, I decided to get creative.

first I needed to make a stencil.
I used blue painters tape to make the shape I wanted, layering it on thick for durability. 49EA856B-CFE3-4C0B-AF6E-667761402FF7.jpg

I then carefully peeled it off and stuck it in a cardboard box I had. C039AB72-0AF7-43EF-9BBA-26D9D0CCFC2E.jpg

I traced it on the back of the vinyl (oracal charcoal, I think it was), flipped the cardboard and did it again, then cut them out.
I wiped the headlights down with alcohol, an let them dry....then applied the vinyl.

I love it. I’d probably do it even if my headlights weren’t messed up.

What a great idea and nicely done. I feel like you're going to have a few copycats. Maybe even an idea for some vinyl guys. @DecalsByDesign could probably do well with this kinda thing

I like this. I wouldn’t mind seeing someone use some smoke/transparent vinyl/tint to go over the amber parking lights...just to tint it a little maybe...

I believe his were fiberglass and far more elaborate. They look great!

Mine took less than 20 minutes and cost under $10...for those who may struggle with fiberglass or finances.

you could always go by a Kinko's, Office Depot or Fedex office and let them scan it for you. they could create a PDF file for you on a Zip drive then you could easily email it.

Something I discovered now that it’s dark. I had hoped that light would shine through the rims around the edge that I left blank, and they do! They aren’t bright, but have a very cool glow.
