**HELP** installing coachbuilder shackles/removing block

Tonight I started installing my coachbuilder shackles. I first needed to remove the old 1 inch blocks. I got the block out but when I lowered the leaf spring back onto the axle, I can't get that notch on the bottom of the leaf to go into the hole in the axle. I tried lowering the axle at different heights and raising the leaf on both sides of the axle to try different angles. I can't get it to line up. Help a brotha out! @Coachbuilder1

 

Wiggle the axle at same time have some one raise the jack I had same issue

 

I had my three ton jack on the pumpkin and my other jack on the leaf. When you say "have some one raise the jack", are you referring to the pumpkin jack or leaf jack? Also, if the weight of the axle and pumpkin is on the jack, i wouldnt think i could wiggle the axle. I can give it a shot though.

 

I used ratchet tie downs to pull the axle cuz I was in a similar predicament and tackled the add a leaf alone. Not saying it’s the safest but it worked.

 

I only had one jack on pumpkin and jack stands on frame and also 2 jack stands on axle just in case.....but wiggled one side at a time and then the other side

I tried wiggling the axle but it isn't moving at all.

 

Maybe try moving the jack to a different position on the pumpkin? You should be able to wiggle it in position as you lift up.

 

I had to jack up the leaf to wiggle, duh. It's starting line up now. Thanks everyone.

Would it help to take the ubolts off the other side to give it more wiggle? Or would that screw me even more?

 

Maybe loosen the other side up would help for more movement
