So I'm ready to pull the trigger on some Kings wondering which uca I should go with... Total chaos, icon or camburg ? Any input would be appreciated.

I run spcs, but I like the TC uppers as well.
SPC keeps updating their UCA's (I think they finally got it right)

Sean, Do you happen to know what SPC did as far as updating their uca? I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger for some SPCs. I like the uni ball TC's but beyond my budget.

I'm going to use ToyTec 10% off code. That pretty much makes ToyTec the best deal out there. Seems like all the UCA mfrs have a price control. Best value out there is ToyTec with that discount.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
SPCs are a good all around with lots of adjust-ability. Low maintenence.
Total Chaos are great as well with a stainless steel uniball and added travel. Little more maintenance to keep them in top shape.
With kings you might as well go for the TCs to get everything you need out of the shocks.

I would look at Zone ball joint UCA's. Solid well built everything you need nothing you don't. I have Tuff Country, also excellent, but dollars to cents, the nod goes to Zone. Uniballs look cool, but few actually need or benefit from them...

The SPC's are made right here in Longmont, CO. The Zone's are nice too and doesn't break the bank.

Thanks for input guys, I'm leaning toward the TC right now. Always nice to have that extra travel, never hurts to have more than u need. I think the Kings give about 2"/25% of extra travel and the TC are suppose to give about 2" of extra also. Seems like they would pair well. wanting the nice/smooth ride on road and off is my big concern

MCM makes some really good stuff. Seen a few of their builds and was more than impressed.

Look at the hardware they run...that should tell you everything you want to know. (ADS shocks...etc)

Was thinking TC but Gna talk to Keith at DD and see what's up, I know he has great customer service and is only couple miles from my house which has me leaning his direction. He pretty much has everything that I'm looking for uca's, shackles, (bamuffler going in tomorrow). Gna order kings from toyotec though

Sounds like a good plan. Keith has everything right there at his shop...something to consider.

If u have the pockets for kings, match them with the top of the line ucas. TC or camburg.

Can u tell me what the difference is between TC, mcm, DD and camburg uca's ?
All r between 650-750$ price won't be a big deal if there is something substantially better between either of these. I see pretty much same design for all of them.

I'm not sure but I think the geometry of them all is pretty much the same. Camburgs, for example, move the wheel back the farthest, from what I've been told. It might be worth a couple of phone calls to ask Keith and Matt how theirs differ from the TC. TC is a good safe bet but Matt's might be just about the same thing and less expensive. If I didn't already have Camburgs, I'd go with mcm. I may switch anyhow 'cause mine are ball joint and not uni-ball.

Geometry and build quality is the difference. Considering it's mid travel though any of them will do just fine. There's no real gain other than durability when it comes to mid travel.

It would be mathematically impossible for all of them to have the same geometry and yet camburg moves the wheel back the farthest. Not only that...it doesn't make sense. Wheel farther back would mean less caster. The whole point of UCA's is to correct/add caster from the effects of lifting.

Camburg (the new arms) use a 1.5" uniball...but they are the shitty chrome plated balls instead of stainless.
TC and MCM both use a 1" stainless steel uniball.
TC uses 1.5" 4130 for their tubing and MCM uses 1.5" DOM.
Don't know shit about Dirty Deeds.

For the record...I cycled right at 13" of travel with TC Uppers and Extended travel King OE replacements

Wouldn't moving the top of the wheel back increase caster?

4130 = chromoly. It's stronger than DOM when properly welded and heat treated.

I think I just misunderstood what you were referring to when you said move the wheel back earlier. Caster is an imaginary line between the pivots as depicted below. Any increase in the angle, either by adjusting the cam eccentrics on the LCA (which pushes the bottom of the tire forward) or replacing the UCAs with arms that have a pivot that is physically farther back(which pulls the top of the tire backward) will increase positive caster.
