Mud flaps. Remove or keep?

Hi everyone, I've been wondering if I should keep the mud flaps or ditch em.

I don't do a lot of dirt road driving, I do take her on a trail or two a year.

I don't think I'd have to worry about chipping my paint, but I'll take tundras.com member advice before I do so. Will I wreck my paint? This truck does chip super easily.

 

When I got Bushwacker fender flares, I had to take the mud flaps off. Otherwise, I would not have taken them off. I think Tundras look awesome with or without them.

 

I would leave them. I had to take my front flaps off for bigger tires and wish I still had them. My tires are pretty much flush with the stock flares and I can still see new chipping on the back flares from the front tires.

 

Personally, I’d keep the front ones on to minimize paint chipping and the rear ones on to minimize throwing up rocks and pebbles at the car behind you.

 

Agreed. I would leave them if you can. I think they are pretty discreet and I don’t notice them like I do on some trucks. They definitely do their job on helping keep the truck clean. The trucks look good with or without them.

 

Been debating this question as well....and also removing the side steps.

 

I'd keep them. I don't do any off-roading and it's amazing how much road crap they stop from getting on the paint.

 

Hell yeah, you should ditch them for some sliders! But keep the mud flaps.
