Looks great. Good price. Just understand it has the smaller v8. Good luck. D

    As I mentioned in another post;

Just make sure all the panels line up nice and straight. Be sure to check in day light look along the vehicle for anything out of the ordinary. Check the bumper and doors are alligned and flush. Take an obdII reader and check the codes. Look for check engine codes and see if anything was recently cleared. This is something I do always when buying a pre owned vehicle. Check under it for any fluids leaking. Not just sticking your head under but get some gloves on and get right under the fucker. Check the frame whilst your there and gearbox, gaskets etc.

If the car is from somewhere like Louisiana or Texas check under the spare wheel and door seal for flood damage.

If you are ever unsure take it to a trustable mechanic and get him to have a look over it.

Good luck. Looks clean from what I can see photo wise. Plus the after market stereo and back camera is a plus. Like the other commentor stated it is the smaller engine and rwd. What is it's KBB in your area?

    Edited; cause grammer.

NADA says $14,250 retail. Good idea on the OBD scanner, didn't think of that. I believe O'reilly Auto or Walmart for that matter sells them locally. I believe the timing belt is supposed to be replaced on these at 90k, right?

You would have to find that maintenance info specific to that vehicle but that sounds about right. Try get them to sell for 10k or new tires. Not sure how much they'll charge for dealer handling et al bullshit though.

Yes sir. Make sure it's been done or negotiate it in with the price, it's a $1,000+ dealer visit for one.

I have worked on vehicles for years. Hopefully I can tackle the timing belt and water pump change myself, but I will definitely negotiate that part of it. Looks like a kit on Amazon for around $150 plus a few hours labor and a 6 pack of Blue Moon should do it.

Thought the 4.7L 2nd gen motor had a timing chain like the 5.7?? If so....nothing to worry about.

    The 4.6 & 5.7 have a chain, the 4.7 has a belt.

From what I have researched they have a belt. There seems to be a kit you can buy with timing belt, water pump, gaskets etc.

I seem to recall seeing that kit posted here on the forum not too long ago.

It's a good kit, but you'll want to add a new serpentine belt, thermostat, and thermostat gasket.

Seems a bit high, sure he can finance. Tundras do hold value.

Make sure it books out in NADA and KBB, at least somewhere close.

    Good luck!

I think some people just use a gasket maker/sealant. Maybe I’m wrong.

That's needed somewhere in there too I believe. On the housing maybe? Either way the gasket is only $5.

NADA pricing a little lower, I would not pay more.

All good info, thanks. I picked up a Bosch OBD1100 Code Reader so I can see if it has any stored codes in the Computer. Hoping to pick it up tonight, keep it overnight for a good test drive, then if all checks out go back to the dealer and haggle tomorrow.

Well, got it home for an overnight test drive. Runs excellent handles excellent. Body is pretty rough, lots of dings, scrapes, etc. Some kind of fluid, maybe grease, coming out of or around the output shaft of the tranny. Wife found 2 accident reports on Cargurus. It will be going back tomorrow.

    Thanks guys
