    That you'll need to YouTube, mine is a 2wd. Actually the first 2wd I've ever owned. When I bought it I finally realized that I'm old and hadn't used my 4wd in years, so I saved a few bucks and went 2wd.

    Front diff is allen bolts if I remember correctly. Harbor freight is my friend. 14- dont have washers on the transfer case. Use pipe dope or teflon tape.

    I just did this the other weekend. I used Royal Purple. Seem to have a lot of good reviews for the diffs.
    Check YT for "Changing rear diff fluid for Tundra". There's a vid with a 2nd gen, but same thing applies to us 3rd gens.
    Key point, open the refill plug first...just to make sure you're able to refill it. Be bad to get the drain plug off, and then not able to get the refill plug out....

    Another point to consider is if ur running lifts with larger tires, your 30k mileage is actually a bit more miles. I know there's formulas out there to calculate it. Or you can change ur gears altogether to 488 or 529s (whenever the come out) and return ur mileage back near stock set up.
    I'd def say 25 - 30k if you're hauling or running bigger tires. I ur stock and just running highway, you can go out to 50 - 60k no prob.

    Thanks! No change in rear Diff, stock, tires? Well I'm running 35's, lifted, that's how I bought truck, and I bought with 26,000 miles on it, now I'm at 63,300

    I'm running damn near the same set up. 35s on a 3" lift.
    I got the lift at 10K. I just clicked past 52K.
    So given your miles, I'd say go ahead and change it for sure.

    One other thing I forgot that (I believe) is unique for the 3rd gen, 4x4s; Toyota changed the front diff to Berg-Werner diff in the 3rd gens. And they call for the ultra rare 75W diff oil. U can get it from Toyota but it ain't cheap.
    Best alternative I found after researching is Ravenol. Made in Germany. By all accounts, good stuff. I got mine off of Amazon.

    I think it’s the transfer case that takes the 75w? The front diff is 75w85 I believe.

    Mind you, I am no tundra expert, this is my first and I’m still trying to tack down a shutter at 20 mph that vibrates till 60 then smooth till 70 then vibrates until 120 and then is smooth as silk again lol

    Oh and that’s kilometres per hour not miles lol

    Correct, 3rd gen Tundras take Toyota 75w in the transfer case.
