LOL thanks Matt. Beer and iced tea......love 'em both, but you're right. Don't help much. Been on the FloMax since the third week of therapy.

It's probably named FloMax because it is supposed to help empty the bladder. It sort of works. Like I said....give it 8 weeks or so. It does get better. Everyone's different.

Saw my Urologist yesterday afternoon for my monthly update. Monthly blood work still coming back with great results. PSA is staying at <.1. If the PSA level was to start going up then that would indicate that cancer is trying to make a come back. So far so good. In 7 months I go off Zytiga / Prednisone regimen. In theory once I'm off that my blood work hopefully will remain the same indicating that the cancer is gone and I'll actually have some testosterone again since I have ZERO now. Fun times......................

Oh, and this should be a good reminder to all the guys, and even gals, to get regular checkups, even though they're not fun, life is good and is even better when you're around this site and with your family and friends who love and care about you!!!! IMO lol

Right on, Matt!! At 8 weeks it was almost like a switch was flipped! I kid you not, everything just suddenly got better. And really glad to hear of your follow-up results. My first follow-up is in a month.

OK..............saw my Urologist today for my monthly "what's up". Got my last Lupron shot in the butt. The Androgen Deprivation Therapy shot. 4 shots to cover 2 year treatment regimen with daily Zytiga/Prednisone candy. Blood work A Ok again. No more full monthly blood work required. Still have monthly blood work but only for PSA and Testosterone levels until May. May...I go off all pills and hopefully Cancer doesn't return. Oh...........I get the privilege of getting a bone density scan next month.......Damn I know how to have fun times..............

    Good stuff Matt!

I have some better news about my dad's situation that I mentioned before too, his meds were switched (not sure from / to what, some of those names sound familiar) and his PSA has dropped to 1/2 of what it was after a month. His doc thinks that trend will continue for the near future too, but certainly not taking that for granted.

So far so good. Won't know for sure until May when I go off the meds. If PSA level stays unmeasurable then the cancer is gone. Waiting game now.

Matt that's awesome!! Glad to hear your progress and it sounds like it is consistently getting better. I had the Radical Prostatectomy on May 31st and still working through some of the side effects but damn glad to get that stuff out of me. PSA at <.2

Sounds good Matt. My PSA was 1.3 on the first checkup. That's good, too. Since I still have the gland, wouldn't expect a zero reading. That's lower than it's been in a couple decades. Soldier on, Matt!

I'm getting a bone density scan Monday as a precaution. Been on Zytiga, Lupron, and prednisone for 18 months and it's taking it's toll physically. Metabolic rate is pretty much upended. I've put on 30 lbs since starting this treatment. Looking forward to May when I go off this stuff and get out and about like I used to be able to do.

I am in Aurora right by Denver. If you need anything at all, let me know. My work is mainly summer oriented, and I have much free time as of late. If you want to go up to White Ranch Park in Jeffco for a hike or something, I have cleats and snowshoes and all the stuff. Just let me know! Also, I hope you feel better!

Glad things are still at bay, Matt. I’m in awe that you have taken prednisone for so long. You must be one tough SOB. I take that shit for a week and I’m a mess.

Needless to say I'm looking forward to May when I'm off all the meds. It's starting to mess me up a bit finally. The last two months have been hard walking sometimes and hard to get up and down. Fun times.
