    Hello Tundras.com Members!

Bought the new Tundra when it came out in 2007, SR5 4x4 model, white double cab. Enjoyed the truck for about 3 years, only did a K&N heavy air breather as a mod, then sold the truck to my company for use by staff for the last 6 years. Buying the truck back later this week and looking to inspect, service, repair as needed and then do some personalization. It won't be a daily driver but rather as a light duty work truck around the home, towing the surf boat, rv, hitting the odd forestry road to access the back country, etc.

Initial thoughts are suspension upgrades, mid travel 3" lift?, new wheels and tires, rolling or folding tonneau cover, bed liner or rubber mat, maybe fender flares. May require new exhaust system as well but will know better once I put it on the lift...

I'll post a few photos once I have the truck back in my hands later this week. Anyways, thanks everyone, I always appreciate the great value and feedback that members of these types of forums provide and look forward to researching these improvements and doing the work! Any recommendations are greatly appreciated as always, thanks again!

Hi again everyone and thanks for the most awesome tomfoolery welcome!! I have to say that I belong to a few forums all related to the "toys" (wifely speak for "what did you do with our money?") and this is the best welcome of all - holy Tundra Nuts :mudding:

Life is good over here in the 944,000 kms2 that is beautiful British Columbia - no shortage of adventures to be had, that is for sure, and hope as many of you as possible make the journey someday if you haven't already!

Got the truck back Weds, put it up on the lift and noted the expected surface rust on the chassis, suspension, frame given the 6 years in Alberta and some spots on the painted surfaces that look like they can be polished out :itllbuffout:. I used a full can of Seafoam penetrate on the key areas, nuts and bolts under the truck to ensure that when I do begin pulling things apart they come off a little easier. I also completed the out of province inspection (since it was returning to BC from Alberta), re-registered, plated and insured. Our oldest son goes camping on the Oregon coast every year about this time and he wasted no time Weds night asking to take the DIL and our 2 grandchildren in the Tundra "this Sunday" - so what's a grandpa to do?!? Well specifically, Thursday's list included tire rotation and balance, installation of a roll and lock tonneau cover (took my time, read the instructions, watched a few videos, so about 2.5 hours once I re-installed the bed rails that I had taken off way back in the day and glad to have kept), and redoing the back brakes - rotors and pads, but the fronts have a bit left so will do when they get back. Yesterday was changing all the fluids including front and rear diffs and a good bath - of the truck I mean. The kids and precious grandkids should be in a safe vehicle now and have a way to safely lock up their stuff in the truck-bed.

I had forgotten about the skid plate that I installed shortly after buying the truck in 07' and from reading these forums, so much great info, I already have quite the wishlist created of additonal stuff! Will get to work on the suspension upgrades, exhaust system, wheels and tires, cosmetic improvements and creature comforts when they get back in a few weeks, can't wait! Here is a photo, glad to have my Toyota back, plus one of a few other projects that may get some attention this winter...

    Thanks again everyone!

Thanks Matluth, that 88' FJ62 is my second Cruiser, also had an 83 FJ60 that completely rusted apart and the frame broke while my wife was going over a speed bump - whoops :) Bought this one about 13 years ago from the original owner in AZ and our youngest son drove it for a few years as well before I put it away in storage. Nice dry unit, no rust, pulled it out of storage a few weeks back to begin preparations for a winter tear down. The 76 GT hatchback will follow that!

"Owls" - love that area as well, great little town Tillamook with nice people, and as you say some great back roads. My wife and I drive places for most of our holidays, rarely fly anywhere, attempting to visit all of the national parks (and for sure everything west of central US) and we have often been through that area on the motorcycle and in our other vehicles - enjoy!

Spent some time going back and forth with Keith at DirtyDeeds Industries over the last week, pulled the trigger today for the 8" stainless exhaust system, Bilstein 6112's and 5160's, CoachBuilders +1 Shackles, and (5) each of the 17" Method NV's Matte Black w/ Machined Face and BFG KO2 305/65R17's

Looking forward to getting everything over the next few weeks, exhaust in September and beginning the mild tango_face_wink_ad3af12617f2bbc662b902559f9ad7fe7607dd0d.png "transformation" of my 07' DC

True, nothing cheap about the car and truck hobby - these "want but don't need, and sure aren't necessary" items came in around $5k which seems crazy in many respects but I'll wait to see how everything functions, followed by looks, before I beat myself up too badly :smack:... with that said, the wife may take a few rounds out of me before then (depending on who gets to the mailbox first) :turtleride:
