I engage in commercial concrete construction. Sometimes it gets pretty gosh darn big, complicated and ever-so satisfying to complete.

    Speaking of barns!

Some barn doors i recently did.
Hardware was order online. Bought the door material at lowes. Without labor, i think it was under $100. I think. Hardware was ordered a good while ago.

If i had to choose between pocket doors and barn doors, i take barn doors all day.

Pocket doors if time is a factor though.

For the past few months, I’ve actually taken on another line of work.

Just couldn’t stand being behind a computer every single day for 40 hours a week.......just joined my uncle in law to help him out with his industrial generator sanding and painting business. Dude has some bad health problems and needed help, I had just moved and didn’t have many job prospects, so why the hell not?

Turns out I actually like it and may be taking over his business while paying him a “retirement pension”. Damm good money, flexibility like you wouldn’t believe, and gets me out from behind a desk......

    34AA4FEC-04AB-4D69-8153-7964AAD0221B.jpg

Post sanding and prep for paint.

Got a few of these suckers coming through the next few weeks......PAYDAY!!

I would love to say it was, but sorry. Those are my boots. It was an ugly rainy day. Since i wasnt there to really work i took them off. If i was actually working though, i have to keep them on cause its hard to get the insurance company to pay up if i dropped a sledge hammer on my bare feet.

I want to photoshop a raccon in that pic now.

I’m a mechanical designer engineer and program manager in the industrial process controls division of a major manufacturing and technology company most widely known for making round thermostats. (Hmmm. Wonder who that is.) I’ve been there for almost 23 years. In a previous job, I did a major part of the mechanical packaging design on the TV transmitter that transmitted the first HDTV back in the early 90’s.
My favorite job though is playing “Pop-Pop” to my 7 grandchildren. 3 live near us in SE PA. 2 live in Huntsville, AL, 2 live in El Paso, TX so we travel to see them several times a year.

Would love to get some advice on these. My water is hard as hell, and I’ve been looking into water softeners. So many types and companies to choose from. I don’t want to end up with junk.

I think I responded on here way back, but not sure. I manage a couple of branches for an electrical supply company. I sell wire, lighting, power distribution, and most other things related to the electrical industry. Been in the business twenty years, at this company for 17.
