Hi guys. Great forum full of info. I've been binge reading :D

I'm looking to buy my first Toyota, and obviously first Tundra. I've had Chevys (2x 1500s), Fords (Raptor) and Rams (Daktoa, Durango, 2500 CTD Long Bed). Geez when listed out like that sure seems I go thru 'em eh?

I've decided on a Tundra for a few reasons, one being reliability (don't even get me started on the plethora of recalls on my Ram!). I'm so over the 99k-miles-sell-it-now-or-else thing (definitely my experience with Chevy/Ford), and the Ram is just too big/rough for light duty trail running and daily tasks (could probably go 500k miles on that motor, but who knows on the DEF crap, trans and rest of the truck). Based on what I'm seeing, 100k on a Tundra is just breaking it in (or any Toyota for that matter), so that's good. Wife is on board (pushing me, actually) so long as its Cement, hence the username.

I'm not in a rush, and am looking at both new and used. At the moment I'm leaning new 2019 SR5 TRD 5.7 4x4 Double Cap 6ft, but am still considering. One limiting factor for me is I'm 6'9" and can only comfortably fit in the bench seat with tilt back center seat. The center console on the more upgraded models is a no go.

Anyone have any thoughts on new vs used, specific to the Tundra (and beyond the usual concerns buying used)? Also, anyone have any warnings regarding going Tundra from 'the big three'? Or on the flip side, things I can look forward to?

Thanks in advance guys, and again, thanks for all the quality info here on this site!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I should have said Hello from AZ!

    Great to hear.
No doubt. That was the second thing we checked, after confirming the bench was my only option. I dont think you can get the sunroof on a bench equipped rig in any event.
:D Not the first time I've heard that remove-the-front-seat suggestion :D In fact I had one overzealous salesman try to convince me back in the day that I could buy his model, then get the seat moved back by drilling new holes in the floorboard. When I asked for full warranty and OEM liability coverage for just such a mod in writing, his hopeful look disappeared faster than baby back ribs at a tailgate party. Was funny to see.

I'm eyeballing a 4x4 Double. Don't really want to go back to a 5ft bed (Raptor), and if I understand correctly, only the Doubles offer the 6ft. No need for the 8ft as I have that with the Ram.

The biggest bummer for me being stuck with the bench is it doesn't look like I can get the 38gal tank with the 5.7. All options I'm seeing that add the 38gal, also replace the bench with the buckets. Aftermarket here I come, or... ?
