I currently have a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 with the built in laser, as well as the Kahr CW40. I have my CWP and carry on occasion (I know I need to start making this a habit), but I think part of the reason is I'm not sure what holster style I want/like. Currently the I just have a little pocket holster for the .380, but in an emergency it would be less than useful. The holster doesn't really stick to the inside of my pocket and can be hard to get the gun out. I mainly use it just to store the gun in when not being carried. I love the size of the Kahr, but I've never carried it due to not having a holster. I do like the bodyguard that I can just throw in my pocket (without the holster).

I want to know, what is everyone's favorite holster to carry for your daily gun (brand, model, etc)? I would love to see preferences on the two I have, if anyone else has those or something comparable, but I need to get something comfortable to use and carry. Thanks in advance!

Interested as well. I have a Smith and Wesson M&P 45. Looking to get two types of holsters. One for open carry and another for inside the belt CC. There are so many out there it’s hard to pick. I’m also eventually going to get the Smith and Wesson shield 9 mm. That will eventually be my go to CC. Obviously not in California LOL

I've actually never tried carrying IWB either, but I think I may like outside the waist better.

That’s my thought as well. I would probably need to go get looser fitting pants just to make it happen. I would like to open carry for when we go to the mountains or desert to hike. It doesn’t do me any good in my backpack.

Vedder makes nice Kydex pocket holsters. They have a hook at the bottom to help hold them in your pocket as well as a thumb shelf to help get the gun out of the holster. I have a couple for my Ruger LC9s and my Glock 43. I prefer to carry OWB but concealed under my shirt. I have been using DeSantis mini-scabbards (I think that is what is is called). It is a leather OWB holster with adjustable retention.

Milt Sparks for IWB (leather, comfy and built well with lifetime warranty) also Galco kingtuck

Safariland ATS for training or fast paced shooting

Blackhawk Serpa for hunting so that when I’m tracking through brush and falling down hills my shit is always fully strapped and literally locked in place.

I lost a G42 hunting last year due to a shitty holster (there was only a few holsters to chose from at time because the gun just came out).

Chest packs don’t work for many. I tried, and bow hunting with a chest pack sucks balls. They can also fuck with your cheek weld shooting rifle. Takes a lot of getting used to.

I carry a Sig P220 in a Blackhawk paddle holster. It is OWB but it tucks in tight and has a lock with an index finger release so in case I get into a scuffle it's harder for my opponent to unholster it and it doesn't come out accidentally.

If you guys are interested in leather, Wright Leather works is great. Each one is fitted to a specific pistol of your choice. Both quality and fit are great.

I have a Crossbreed that is pretty comfortable that I use when wearing shorts. Prefer ankle holsters when wearing long pants.

I've carried IWB for years and IMO, it's not uncomfortable at all. It just takes some getting used to. I wear Levi's and Carhartts and have never had to go up in size to accommodate a holster. I've also managed to collect a number of holsters over the years. The best leather ones I own are from Bear Creek holsters and Wright Leather Works. The best kydex ones I own are from PJ Holster and DARA. The DARA has been my go to for about a year. It's their SOB model with a 30 degree cant. Extremely comfortable and completely undetectable even under just a t shirt. One thing I've found is that a 'gun belt' makes all the difference in the world. Your typical leather belt from Walmart, Kohls, JC Penny's, wherever, doesnt have enough backbone to support the weight of a gun, even when its sandwiched between you and your pants. Mine is from Armour Belts. It's black leather, blends well with all of my casual clothes and is heavy enough to support my XDS, keeping it nice and tight to my body. A good gun belt will also greatly reduce printing.

I have a leather Bianci which is a really nice holster. It’s a right hand draw belt loop holster for my Ruger GP100 with a 4.2” barrel. I don’t really carry to often though I do have my CC. But I bring it up because it’s a super nice Italian leather holster. Came with the gun. You may want to check them out.

20171015_122036.jpg Look into alien gear holsters by far my favorite and most comfortable IWB I've ever owned. That make holsters for most pistols on the market IWB OWB I even have one mounted in my truck.

This is the answer right here...I love my Alien Gear holster. Even if you get the intro model and not the shape shift you will be pleased! Best part is you can buy different shells for different model weapons and use the same ITW baseplate

I would have said Aliengear holsters at one point, but I have recently become a huge fan of Black Arch holsters. Amazingly comfortable. I carry a CZ P-01 IWB daily without any discomfort.

For a budget option that is still really manageable go with Aliengear.

I've tried a few holsters in the past but they all seemed to be to bulky. I ended up with a clip which spends all of it's time in my front pocket. It's attached to a Glock 380.

    Alien Gear for open carry

I carry an M&P Shield most of the time and occasionally an M&P compact or G19. All of the go in a Crossbreed Supertuck. It is an amazingly comfortable holster for me. I have been using them since Mark Craighead was making them in his garage. I have tried many others incluing the Galco King Tuck and the Alien gear but they were not as comfortabble. I know that Alien Gear is constantly improving their holsters and they are real improvements.

Outside the waistband I have not found anything that is a better value than the Blackhawk CQC / Serpa. They are secure, comfortable, durable and reasonably priced. What is not to like. The faux carbon fiber even looks pretty sharp.

You didn't ask the question, but the best mag holder than Ihave found is the Comp Tac single. They pack together nicely when Iam wearing multiples (three - five) for shooting competitions.

Here is what it looks like:

I’ve got a BladeTech tuck holster for IWB carry that I’m rather fond of. Had a Galco IWB before that, this ones much more comfortable and doesn’t require me to upsize my pants.

2020 Army Green Toyota Tundra TRD PRO
Be careful with that holster, had one for my H&K and was in a scuffle that had me bounced up against a wall and broke that retention clip. Some instructors won't even allow them in their classes. I run a Raven Concealment now for my Glocks and I'm not in a position anymore where scuffles will be likely. So if there is a reason I'm drawing we're likely way past a "scuffle".

Techna Clip For my XDs .45. It’s like the gun is not there. I have had a few holsters but this is my favorite way to carry.

If I had a 9mm M&P shield or a .40 XD sub-compact I'd carry them in a Crossbreed MiniTuck in horsehide and a Crossbreed SuperTuck, respectively. That's only if I had either of those guns and carried them, though...

Nice Spyderco Yojimbo. Have been carrying one for a while myself.
