Keep an eye out on eBay, more and more people are crashing their cars so hopefully one can pick up a set for cheap. Be mindful when buying that there are two versions, one is Platinum, and one SR5 model, internals are the same except the signal part of the light, above it is chrome vs gray.

You just roll the window down and reach up there and hold on to it!

Or you just use some ratchet straps and loop around the boards at the front of the bed and have them hooked to the tie down spots.

I prefer to lay long boards over the tailgate myself. If i dont i feel like im gonna snag some ppls phone lines when driving through neighborhoods.

13 ft i believe is the lowest the bottom line on the poles (telephone) are techically supposed to be.

Key word "technically". Though the phone company eats the repair cost if you can prove it was under 13ft.

After all the hurricanes a while ago the debris removal companies had literally a couple hundred trucks per county working for months. I was working for the county and had to "monitor" them. Their trucks, boom grappler and all were built to stay right under 13ft.

Every other day id see one of them trucks leaving a neighborhood dragging everyones telephone lines out with them.. Lol..

Sucked for the home owners but its been long enough to go ahead and say it. That shit was halarious. Lol

I did the install. 1st time was really slow because I wanted to take my time and avoid going into a rampage and smashing things. The process is straightforward but there are a couple tricks you'll hate yourself if you dont figure out. Drivers side is easy except for one nut which is virtually impossible to reach. Passenger side - I had to "clearance" the cab, move the dipstick tube out of the way, and jack the motor up about 3" to get it in. Once over the studs it just takes about 3hrs of fiddling with 1/16th of a turn at a time going thru the torque sequence. Patience. 9hrs with hand tools, two 6 ton jack stands, a section of 2x4 and a decent full size jack. And every 12mm box, open end, socket, extension and pivot adapter they sell.

The second time I put them on was much faster. 5hrs maybe with a couple breaks to stare at the wall and contemplate how i got here.

So how did I get here? Oh yeah, I neglected to check the flange for trueness/flatness/whatever before installing the first time and almost immediately blew a gasket. Do yourself a favor and take the shitty paper gasket they come with out of the box and throw it in the trash. Then take the headers directly to a machine shop and get them planed. On your way back home, drive to all 4 of the local Toyota dealerships to purchase two OEM expanded metal gaskets. Also, curse each of them for stocking nothing but 10w40 and key fob covers.

Was it worth it? Oh hell yes. Unbelievable difference.

It's 100% worth it, the difference in power is shocking. It's on the traction control constantly now. Also there's nothing better than the way long tubes sound. I'm running the jba midpipes with flowmaster 142 (I think) cats welded in front of the secondary o2's with emulators just in case (not required as it turns out), the el cheapo jba 3" single exit, single muffler. Sounds great, very limited and acceptable drone for about a 200rpm window, a nice little not-obnoxious burble at cruising speed, and a pretty good rip when you floor it. Fuel trims and 02 voltages are perfect, it does not stink and my fuel mileage went UP 1mpg, I get 12.7mpg now.

Rent a car or something though so you can take your time. Not something you can rush.

Hard to get a screen shot while floored down a country road, but I've seen 444hp and 507lbs ft on a highway pull, the highest this thing ever read stock was 392hp.

OBDLink LX for android. It's been the best $79 I've ever spent. My wife drives fancy, finicky cars with 5 ECUs, this little thing has helped me avoid the dealership for quite a number of sensor failures and weird glitches (on her cars, not the Tundra. It doesnt break).

Man I just sold one because I couldn't find anyone within 150 miles of Charlotte, NC who'd install it. That 10.5 requires a pretty serious bearing puller apparently.
