Fuel Ripper or Fuel Beast----Let's see 'em!

Giving thought to the Fuel Ripper or Fuel Beast in 18x9 with either 275/70 or 305/65 Wildpeaks. Would love any pics you guys might have of this setup. Stock height truck but might do 5100's at next to lowest setting.

 

Fuel Beast 18x9 -1 offset with 35's...pic is in stock height. Love em!! They're not black, but a reallllly dark bronze. They almost change colors depending on the lighting.

 

These were some Beasts I m&b'd for a Jeep build we did at my shop. Rolled 'em up just to see how they would look...pretty sick against the 4T3!

Sorry to dig this back up, but did you ever get any rims? I'm thinking of getting the 18x9 Beasts with the +20 offset.

 

purchased the 20x9 1mm offset today; will be here tomorrow; stock on 2018 1794 is 60mm; should give me about 2.3 inch hang;

 

I was looking at the Beasts earlier today as well. The Fuel wheels' bore is only 110.3 though and we need at least 110.5, so I was assuming they'd be just undersized enough to piss you off and not mount. Do these actually fit the 3rd gens okay?

 

We will see tomorrow. Was told it was guaranteed fit. Will test that guarantee tomorrow. Fingers Crossed

If they fit and I get time, I will post some pics tomorrow.

Bear has them on his 16 in an earlier posts. He is running 18's with 1mm offset and 35 inch tires.

I don't think the wheel mounting has changed on the 3rd gen trucks, so you should be good.

 

So what was the verdict?

 

They fit. Had to trim a bit. 0mm offset with 275 60 r 20 kanati at tires. Will post some pics soon. They look good.

These are by far my favorites. Excellent choice. Im guessing Santa will be doing some shopping. Can you please give us an update on the performance. Thanks.

 

Have about 7500 miles on them. Holding up fine. There are a few nicks in them from rotating tires (guys hitting it with impact/lug nuts). Not sure what to do about that or if there is a way to tint it back (just shines of machined metal)

 

Thnaks a lot for your input. Yes I have heard that the paint is very soft and / or chips easily. That is my only reason why I havent jumped in those. As I understand you bougt 20x9 with +1 offset. Con you please confirm this?

 

Correct. 20x9 with +1 offset; however, when the boxes arrived they showed 0 (zero) offset. I also figured if I keep the truck long enough and the rims get nicked more than I can stand, I will just have them powder coated. I have my eye on a new Tundra with turbo if the remodel comes out.

Not sure what tire you like to run, but I have had good luck with Kanati All terrain. They are made by Greenball (golf cart tires, motorcycle tires); they have a great rep. The bonus is the tires are very affordable. For me, a little loud but price and overall water performance out weighs the noise.

Only other thing I would say, if you are deciding between these and a rim that covers the entire lug nut area, the rim that had the trim piece that covers the entire lug nut area would take care of most of the chipping problem on tint of rim.

 

Thank you very much for your input. The +1 looks really good and thats my first option. I do not want to buy new tire so Im using the stock ones. Im still a little hesitant to jump on these just because of he poor paint quality. Any ways thank you for taking yr time. One last thing, did you level the truck?

 

Leveled with the bilstein adjustable shocks on the front--highest setting and regular bilstein shocks on back. It might be a half inch off in the front or less, but looks much better than before. Don't be scared on the paint. It is really not a big deal. There are just a little nick here or there at worst.

I bought my truck with Beasts on it. I thought I wanted to go a different route. I bought TRD wheels and had them powder coated, bought TRD Pro center caps... only to realize I like the Beasts better. Beasts went back on my truck today.

 

I’m digging the beasts!! Going on 2 years now of off raiding, rock climbing, woods and trail crawling, hot as balls desert life to weeks of below zero temps with snow, slush, sand and salt. They’ve been used to tow 8500lbs of crap 2800 miles, and several times after that 10150lbs of excavator about 14-15 mi in gnarly back country roads...

Haven’t had 1 issue with paint or chipping. I rotate my own tires, so I’m careful, but all in all, I really like these wheels. They look great clean!! They look great filthy as hell!!!

 

Ok I am really confused on the offset. I was thinking the +20 but everyone here has the 1mm offset. Plus they don’t look that concave which is why I liked the wheel. Can someone please help me out on the two offsets. How concave are the 1mm offset?

 

@JoeCoastie truck looks fantastic with the fuel beast! do you have lift/level? or these stock suspensions. any rubbing/trimming?
