I had the Taco for 6 months, I thought I could trade sown from my F250 and be happy. Nope, couldn't do it, so I purchased this one last week. Some of the planned modes are.
    • 3-1 Readylift
    • 18/9 +18 Wheels
    • 295/70/18 Cooper SST Maxx
    • Changing out the chrome door handles for black,
    • Color matching the mirrors
    • Removing chrome steps
    • Grill undecided

    Overcompensation?

That's why I have the 3/1 lift and not the 6" don't want to make it too obvious :anonymous:

The transmission was terrible, I had a 3" lift with 33's and it would barely do 70 down the interstate.

thanks ! before buying my tundra I was debating getting a 2016 Tacoma but kept reading about the transmission issues and weak engine (or factory tune) so I ended up with a slightly used Tundra instead. I will probably look again a Tacomas again in 5 years after they fix all the bugs ;)

Welcome and congrats! Coming from an 07 Tacoma, then an 03 Tacoma and now into my 14 Tundra.... drove a couple 2016 Tacomas, not enough for me anymore! Totally get it. You should love the Tundra though!

Understand where your coming from. I went in for my 5K service check with my 2016 Tacoma and left with a 2016 Tundra. Had many Tacoma's throughout my life, its time to go big with comfort and power. I very happy with my new Tundra. Have lots of goodies on it. And many more in the near future..... Your Tundra looks great!

Welcome from eastern CO! A buddy of mine has the same issue with his Taco, he's got 35" Duratracs and can't get it to shift into the top gear.

My neighbor down the street really doesn't like his 16' Tacoma either. He would take back any of his older ones.

I had a 16 Tacoma also that I traded in for a 16 tundra cm. I hate the new 3.5 they put in the Tacoma it has no tourqe. The first time I pulled a small trailer I was done. I traded it in the next day lol.

The manual isn't much better. I got rid of my 2016 Tacoma 6/M after 9 months. The 3.5l did respond better with a manual, but it shifted like a tractor. The thing would never keep a straight line at highway speeds either. Good riddance to the Taco!

You didn't post your decision on Tacomaworld did you? I made the switch, and I swear at night I can hear like 40 tacos idling around the place. Like sharks with blood in the water, or the Hotel Cali song where you can check out, but you can never leave. I think those Tacoma guys would slit your throat, cut you up into small pieces and mail your parts across the Taco forum so you would never be found.
