    I swung by the dealership to look at the truck they had it installed in and of course it was sold. They left a message for the the guy that does the installations on them. I will talk to him and see what he says, they definitely are putting them in new trucks and left positive reviews on sellers website. I feel the same way as you, hard to imagine someone buying a new truck and it having glitches.

    I am new to the site and today just found out about the Gen2 HU. Went to the FB group page and see where they say they no longer support Phoenix as their supplier. Seems the reviews on this site are good enough, so what happened? I really like the new design and am tempted to pull the trigger.

    @TundraLuv, my 2018 Limited’s heated seats seem to he working. From what all I’ve read, it looks like sometimes bugs can occur from year to year. For example, for your temp question, they fixed the issue in 2017 and earlier TUNDRA HI, but still have not addressed 2018 and and 2019. Phoenix said they would fix it. Here’s some pics showing how I went to TUNDRA HI, saved and rebooted, then 25 degrees Celsius came up. When I tried to adjust, not temps showed, then back to HI and LO. I hope they get this fixed quickly...

    Just bought the Carplay dongle today. Will install Wednesday night. Going to also install a single USB jack in between the Glass Break Sensor and the USB/AUX jack. That’ll be for my Apply Carplay hook up (can’t wait for them to make a wireless Apple Carplay adapter!). The factory USB plug I’ll use for portable hard drives / USB sticks. My glovebox is filled up already or else would’ve routed wire to there. Will post pics after install.

    In the meantime, scratched the trim a little installing. Does anyone know of any silver touch-up paint for this plastic interior trim, for a perfect match? Pic of scratch below.

    Through experimentation I learned further about this. Basically the factory USB port does become charging only for an iPhone. BUT, the factory USB port will read data from a FAT32 USB stick or USB hard drive, so you can use either as a media source through your factory USB port.

    A little more detail regarding the factory USB port capability for people like me with technological retardation!! :thumbsup:

    Heated seats in my '17 Platinum work just fine with the TUNDRA HI setting. As someone previously said, change your vehicle type back to TUNDRA HI and reboot.

    I found that when I played music from my phone S8 I had to go to the phone dial screen (V2 W buttons)on the head unit before it would be heard.

    What FB group did you go to? Phoenix is the only vendor they have worked with on the group buys and support issues.

    Have a 2015 sr5, non JBL speakers with factory amp under passenger seat. Just installed the HU last week and everything is working great except my amp isnt recognized. Went to the Console icon and selected Amp Infor which brings up a ton of amp settings but they are all greyed out and I can't make changes to anything on the screen. Is there a setting that I am missing elsewhere that would make these active? Appreciate any knowledge you guys can give.

    For anyone reading this, I am Jodi & Buddy Miller from the facebook group. There will be future group buys. Phoenix told me there never would be again. But, I was able to work that out. I was also able to get them to do the Black Friday sale for the 2nd gen trucks. There will be future group buys for that also. But, I am not sure how many more times they will let me do that.
    Anyway, if you really want to know more about the unit and get real time info, go to the facebook group tundra tesla. There are updates and a few of us who understand this thing. There are 2 updates that you need. Plus, I am in direct contact with Phoenix. So, if I see an issue that someone is having, I report it to them and the tell the engineer. And, they are a little upset with the engineer because they released it to early with these issues. We have worked out most of the problems and reported some to Phoenix, who has then released updates to fix them. While I do come here often, I am on facebook a lot as I run the tesla group and 4 other groups for the Tundra. Please, go join. I see there are some knowledgeable people here, and we would not mind more suggestions and such as we too want to make these a better experience.

    NM, I found it, for those who want to know, it’s under Settings, System Settings, and turn the “Track” function to OFF.

    I think that’s a great opportunity to take it out, sand, prime and paint it whatever color you like. I used Rustoleum for plastics.

    I usually drive within 48h so I rarely see the boot screen, but there’s an option in the settings (not near my truck atm) put the pic on a USB stick.

    You can also change the main truck with one that has a transparent background. The best ones imho are saved from Toyota’s website, I posted how to do it a few pages back, I can’t remember offhand. Haven’t looked into changing any other images. If you can’t figure it out, post back.

    I followed a link somebody posted on this thread. The group is called "Toyota tundra-Tesla unit(Tips,Tricks,Updates)

    It says on the main page, "In the recent events with Phoenix not delivering the great quality they claim, our official vendor will be Espony-Cargo with them also offering us a discount"

    Am I at the right group?

    That was an old post. Phoenix has been pretty good dealing with exchanges or returns, no idea how Espony-Cargo will treat people doing the same. Phoenix techs also input the settings for us, have provided recent firmware updates, and it looks like Jodi up there is saying he was able to arrange another group buy off them tba.

    I noticed that when you put it in reverse, the sound volume goes down. Is there a setting as well in there you can adjust to where the volume doesn’t go down when in reverse?

    Not that I’ve seen, and you and I have the same year/trim level. Can you take a short video and post it here? It’s probably a system setting.

    Also, noticed something tonight you may or may not have...in the info center in the dash between the RPMs and the speedometer (behind the steering wheel), when you install the Phoenix HU, you lose the Music and Navigation icons. Makes sense since there is no longer info coming from the factory HU. Remember reading about it somewhere and I believe it’s normal. See pic below.

    Just FYI, if anyone has a Sequoia (mine is a 2008), Phoenix got back to me today and confirmed that the HU for 2007-2013 Tundra is NOT compatible.

    me yesterday ->:bananadance:

    me today ->:bananadead:

    wish i knew what aspect wasn't compatible, i mean i have rear heating/cooling controls, but most everything else between Tundra and Sequoia should be the same.

    extremely jelly of you guys that get to sport these!

    It looks like no one has answered this, so I’ll do my best, as I have the JBL system. I’m pretty sure that if you do not have the JBL system, you do not have access to the deeper amp settings like the Console icon, DSP under system settings, etc.

    Hopefully someone else with a non-JBL system can confirm this...
