Going to be changing the “bead lock” bolts on my Method Double Standards

These are with the zinc bolts. I purchased the black kit, and I’m debating on painting a zinc set in 3R3 to see how’ll look color matched to the truck.

Anyone have any advice on how to switch them out without scratching the wheels?

 

Use thin walled socket..and take your time.

 

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing. I'm hoping someone could point me to some magical socket that is hard enough to torque them down properly, but not hard enough to scratch the wheels.

 

Use the same socket, doesnt need to be torqued down to much..

 

I’m doing this soon when my bolts arrive, I’m thinking lay over some cling wrap first and/or stick bolt spacers inside the socket to make it shallower enough not to touch the wheel finish. Ideally I’d like to loosen them all off with an impact driver, but I’ll hand apply the new ones with a socket wrench.
