I FEEL old reading through this thread, as almost all is very familiar. If I didn’t know better, I’d be starting to think that I AM old.

I do miss fresh homemade bread baked in the wood cookstove though. :sandwich:

I remember that my Dad's first job in Oregon after retiring as an aviator for the Marines in 65 was selling a new fangled brand of cars/ trucks in Eugene. TOYOTA. I remember him bringing home a demo Corona. Turned heads in town. No one had ever seen such a critter. Needless to say I've been around Toyota's since the beginning. The red 65 demo LC he drove home is still my favorite 4X4 ever.

come to think of it...most of the demos he brought home were red.....even the tiny truck...heh...heh..I'm getting a bit older it seems..

pretty much the same clothes line everyone had when I was a kid. Air drying clothes is hands down still better than a $1500 dryer...

    Not nearly enough room here!
I realize I'm old because I'm still using words like, 'Buy', 'Include' and 'Effect' instead of "Purchase", "Incorporate" and "Impact"!

we had the t-poles in the backyard for clothes drying too..I was in the garage the other day when my 13 yr old grandson came strolling in and asks me "What's this and how do you use it ?" when I turned around and looked he was holding an old rotary dial desk top phone in yellow no less. You don't know how to use a phone? Not this kind its to old just like you !! Lets just say that he left the garage a lot faster than he walked in.

It was a special time when they became available in colors! Where we lived, you had to go down town to get one and it was really cutting edge.

I was at work and we had a kid (13) was going to to spending the night in the ER. I wheeled in an old cart with a tube TV and a VCR with a stack of vhs tapes. This kid looked at me like I had 3 heads. She had no idea what a VCR or tape was. I showed her how to work it and on my way out said "please be kind and rewind"....she didn't get it.
