    Lack of daytime running lights bugs me. Putting the headlight switch to the "on" position than using the remote to shut it down is ok not perfect.

    Put a cap over the sensor. This is perfect.

    I never noticed that sensor until reading your post. Explain the operation of DRL & how that functions with the sensor over which you placed your hat.

    This is a daylight sensor and affects several things. If your headlight switch is in the "Auto" position than when the sensor detects darkness it will cause the headlights to power on.

    The only downside to putting a hat over the sensor is that it will cause the NAV/Radio to dim during daylight which can make it hard to read.

    That is interesting, I haven't driven at night since I bought the truck. Tonight I'll take a little rride .

    I've no clue however these sensors are very common.

    Solution to your radio dimming when you use your headlights during the day is to go into setup (while not driving) and change the setting to radio bright all the time. Won't display option while you are moving
