I’m thinking about the RB20s. Are the drop steps only helpful if you have a lift on your truck. Mine is stock and I’m thinking I really don’t need those. I do have two young boys who use the running boards to climb in.

No drop steps. My truck is leveled and I have KO2’s on, my 3 year old and bulldog have no problem.

Tundra Law... Are they 4” RB20? Couple questions. First are they powder coated or bedliner finish. I do have a big dog and an hesitant in getting RB20 with holes. I do love the look on your truck. I also have a white Tundra with black trim.

Why put in backwards? Is the look different?

Yes. Backwards the back is a little wider. It looks better with the wider portion of the step platform towards the rear of the truck.

The holes won’t be a problem. My dog does fine.

No problems with my Chocolate Lab getting in/out using the RB20s.Curious to see how they will hold up to Vermont's BRUTAL use of salt.

I put the bedliner-coated versions on my truck this summer...so far the are fine...I reversed them...kids and dogs use them and this is helpful...one thing though, the bedliner isn't sprayed on the bottom nor on the brackets? Its only sprayed on the top which is BS. I don't see them lasting.

This may be the exact reason why the bedliner version has issues with peeling and the reason why I went with the powder coated version.

i don't think it does :).. and my feet are much bigger then my kids so the wider platform up front makes more sense

I’m not sure if I am doing this right to just reply to post but are your RB20s on correctly. Meaning yours aren’t on backwards.

Is the black/ powder coat same in RB20? I’m confused with what to do with installing correctly or backwards. If you put the tapered in back. Does it give enough room to step up on back step. Can anyone who put in backwards could post with back door open it would help. Thanks

Not sure if mine are "backwards" but the wider portion is towards the front.

I considered the powder coated versions but my expereince has been that they rust out even faster and they are "slippery when wet." The reason they peel is due to shitty prep/poor workmanship. But I figured I'd take the chance and pay the extra money for the bed liner coating.

But as I mentioned before, here is the real ball buster - the underside only has a powder coating. The rocks and shit will shred the powder coating over time and they will rust out from the salt. Oh yeah, even better, the brackets aren't sprayed with bed liner either. Silly me for thinking the premium I paid for the bed liner coating would include bed liner the bottoms and the brackets. I am such a dumbass.

No I didn't send them back...I was too pissed off to take the time to repackage and eff with them.

Therefore, I refuse to buy another thing from Go Rhino.

So there you go...D- rating on the RB20s.

    Rant over...

I figure that if I can get at least 3 Vermont winters out of them I'll be happy.I wish they made the RB20 in a stainless steel version.

So are most of you pretty satisfied with durability? I have some oem tube steps that were on the truck when I bought it, just not a huge fan of the look or door ding protection. Wondering if these would be an upgrade or downgrade?A75EC1BC-B2CD-46BC-AE34-4458BF90C988.jpg

Honestly I loved my rb20s. Only reason I sold is because I want to get sliders. The RB20s are great running boards. They do stick out more than I like and it kinda makes your truck seem lower. But they also helped when I needed to put stuff on my roof rack. I'd definitely buy again if I didnt want sliders.

Yep, my "powdercoated" version are already a tad rusty and have a bold spot missing paint about 1.5"x3". More than likely is paint and not powdercoat.
