Purchased this truck tent from a member here that had only used it a few times. I took it out on its first camping trip with me, my 3 yo son and my 6yo boxer. The tent was great but lacks in some areas.

Here is the link to the tent on their web page:
    https://us.napieroutdoors.com/store/catalogue/details/1/1/product_id:39/

    Setup and breakdown:
    1. Sets up just like any other tent with the fiberglass tent poles. There are 4 total poles that you have to install. Two main supports that cross the middle of the dome, one rain fly support from front to back and one that supports the opening section over the tailgate.
    2. I put the poles in on the ground and then lifted it onto the bed. Put the rain fly on after it was on the truck. Should have put the rain fly on before it went on the truck. It was hard to install because of the height.

    Pros:
    1. Fits nicely on the truck bed. Nice and tight; wont blow away.
    2. Quality is good. Would be very similar to a standard Coleman tent.
    3. Fits a queen size air mattress nicely. More of a feature of the bed than the tent.
    4. Price is very reasonable.
    5. Lots of head room. Not quite tall enough to stand straight up but nice height for a 2 man tent.
    6. The bed rails are available in the tent to be used as a shelf for keys, wallet, lantern, flashlights, etc.
    7. It is a two man tent and fits two adults comfortably. Also fit me, my 3 yo and my dog.

    Cons/Like to haves:
    1. The rear opening is large but lacks a lower zipper to allow a good side opening to get in and out without unzipping it alot.
    2. Zipper is loud. Most probably are but i was in tune to it because i was trying to zip it back up after getting my son to sleep.
    3. No side windows that can be opened. There are large screens on the sides but are covered up with the rain fly. No way to open them. Would be a nice to have the option of unzipping the solid window to have just a screen. Could take off the rain fly but then would get wet inside if it rains.
    4. No opening in the rear to access the rear window to the truck. Would be a nice to have but still would require the window to already be down or to get out and roll it down before being able to use. So maybe this nice to have isn't that useful anyway.
    5. No room for bags. Only enough room for sleeping.

Just say they added the Sportz Link to their line-up. Might have to get one to fit with the truck tent i have. Would give the added space for bags, dogs and changing area.

Brian, for the loud zipper, take a bar of soap and rub it on the nylon zipper.

Quiets them down and also acts as a lubricant. Works like a champ on soft top zippers.

Hmm, didn't know that. Was going to research products that would quiet it down. Figured a lubricant of some sort. Maybe WD40 but would make a mess spraying it on.
Your way is much cheaper, clean and easy. Will give it a shot.

Well Dove is a moisturizer, so....

I have nothing...lol. Anything works as long as it is not liquid form.

How has this tent held up to use? I'm seriously looking at getting one but some reviews on Amazon talk about poles breaking easily.

Thanks for review. Any worries about the straps and buckles nicking the paint?

I would look closer at this I bought one and the design in my opinion is not the best.
1 entry and screen folds down over the bed so you climb over the entry screen each time you get in and out. its not going to last long at that rate especially if you wear boots.
2 on the second use the entry way pole snapped at the aluminum connection to make the arch. 10 emails to them and no reply to get a replacement pole.

Poles should be stronger and the entry should open side to side to avoid damaging the screen. Simple modifications that would make this a great tent. I returned it and bought a joy tutus with aluminum poles, side to side entry door and it seems to be a much stronger tent with a higher roof you can stand up in. Time will tell.
