Spacers and tires

i recently purchased 2” spacers and 33x12.50/20 tires. I plan to put on my factory wheels. Anyone have issues with wheel bearings?

 

In my opinion be prepared to do the cab Mount chop with that size tire and 2in wheel spacers

 

What does that equate to? About a plus 10 offset?

 

I really don’t know what the offset equates to. I’ve talked to a bunch and 33 haven’t been an issue. When you get to 35” is when the issues happen

 

It would be +9.2 offset. The spacer would be 59.8 mm. So the factory wheel is I think +60 offset this giving. You remaining 9.2

 

Width, in my opinion, is more the issue. Your doing a 12.5 wide, typically a 33 is closer to 11/11.5. And the way the wheel spacers behave, typically not in a much favorable fashion.

But there's gotta be someone on here who's done something similar. I'd be curious to see the setup

 

I have 1.5 wheel spacer and 3/1 level kit and 34x11.5 tire on stock. No rub no chop

 

You'll be fine, make sure your spacers are hub centric, check them out every time you do an oil change, check them for torque etc. I ran 35 12.50s on my stock 18s with 1.5" spacers for 2 years, no issues. 37 12.50 17s on stock jeep wheels with 2" spacers for 4 yrs.

 

I wanted to go 35x12.5 but was worried about the fit on 8” stock rim

 

50.8 mm lol your end result is correct though. Probably just a typo on the 59.8

 

...you are correct, it was a typo. Either that or as my father used to say, "I don't get the new math".

 

They are Hub Centric. i have also been told to use loctite when installing. i would have to retorque even with thread lock?

 

Not sure, I never used it. I would at least check with in first 100 miles or less to make sure they're snug.

 

You want to check the torque just under what it’s supposed to be torqued at. So if you initially installed at 95 ft/lbs (with locktite), after 50 miles check your torque at 88 or 89. So if they are still good the re-torque will not move them any. If the lug nut turns at the lower torque then you know it was loose and should re-torque at the higher and reapply locktite.

 

should i loctite my spacer lugs? what is the best practice?

 

I would follow the manufactures installation instructions.

Keep in mind that there are different levels of locktite.

-Red (permanent)
-Blue (semi-permanent)
and I'think there are others.

Personally, I used Blue so that one day I may take them off.
